The blood orchid - a rare flower that could hold the secret of eternal life and be worth a fortune to the company that finds it first. Led by a pharmaceutical research team, a scientific expedition sets out to go and explore deep into the jungles of Borneo to locate and bring back samples of the legendary plant. Battling through rainstorms to make their way upriver, the group encounters poisonous insects and a ferocious crocodile, only to discover they're being stalked by an even greater danger: a gathering of giant anacondas. Heat-sensing, fifty-foot-long flesh eaters that will go after anyone that crosses in their path.

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

I own the original Anaconda on VHS, my mom and I found it back in I think 2012.( I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of it but I do like it). I think we got it from an acquaintance, anyway I just recently seen this one a couple of days ago and I thought it was honestly a pretty good sequel to the first. The boat captain's pet monkey named Kong was so cute, my mom and I really liked him. The characters in this one aren't bad, they we're written fairly well, I liked the boat captain and at least a couple of the scientist, in movies like this you know at least one of them goes bad.The Anacondas in this are kinda cool since the film-makers didn't use puppeteer-ed props the used full CGI effects for the snakes their was one crocodile puppet-ed prop use in one scene which wasn't too bad. Director Dwight Little did a decent job with this film, I've only seen a couple of his films like Murder at 1600 which I own and I think the live action film of Tekken but this film was alright I liked it.Overall a decent film, I liked that it was a light monster movie and that it was in the same tone as the first.I give it a 4/10. A pretty good sequel to the first film. Give it a look.

This is a very scary movie. The original Anaconda is very scary. But this sequel is scarier. This a very scary movie. It has a great story line. It also has great acting. It also has great special effects. If you do not get scared of this movie then no movie will scary you. Some scientist go into Amazon in find an Orchid that they think could be cure for cancer. They find group of big man eating snakes. This is very scary. One mistake they made is that there are no tigers in South America. But still no big deal. This a such a cool movie. That is should be no big deal. This movie is a must see. It is very intense. You my not want to watch it alone. Try not to scream in terror. If you thought the The Exorcist was the scariest movie ever made. You could be in for a surprise.

Heavens! This feels like it goes on for more than "Gone with the Wind" did! Lordy! The film (such as it is!) is almost interminable. Just basically a lot of running around the jungle with occasional scenes with one of the snakes. The rest is just goofy melodrama. And, some dude keeps yelling and freaking out constantly like Bill Paxton in "Aliens." Man, can't that guy have gotten eaten? At least Paxton was entertaining. Now, don't get me wrong, this is (amazingly!) better that the horrifically awful original "Anaconda," starring "Master Thespian" Jennifer Lopez and the always-terrible (at least since the 1970's!) Jon Voight. Oh, my, I am having grisly flashbacks just thinking of that! The visual effects are better here, but how could they be worse? The original used CGI in its infancy, and it wasn't a good idea. It came across as really fake in that movie. At least here, they have the good sense to stage the snake scenes at night and in the rain. The film score is the only redeeming thing in the movie. The cinematography is fine, but doesn't help make up for everything else!Do I need to say avoid? I do? Then, avoid!**** (4 Out of 10 Stars)

7 years after Anaconda somebody decided a sequel was needed. It's quite baffling as to why, perhaps it made a killing in the rental department, but nevertheless here we have it. Big snakes, people getting eaten, and inexplicable explosions. This time it's an expedition for flowers that will slow down the aging process. Maybe the writers thought the search for eternal youth is something that would relate to everyone, but if the future is filled with movies like this I wont be clambering for the formula. It's more of the same stupid fun with a few extra snakes. After all, it is mating season. The majority of the cast is outacted by the monkey, who manages to convey more fear and understanding than any of his human colleagues.
