Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

This movie is geared to adults since children and teens won't pay much attention to it at all. The movie is very slow going. It is easy to forget within 5 minutes of the ending. Except for Roy Schneider (whose acting I like however, in this film it was so so)the film would be nearly a total failure. It has a predictable plot and I feel sorry for the actors that have such a bad movie to be in. The actors do a decent job. This movie is background noise and good to leave on for your pet dog or cat. This is also a good movie to have on when one plays bridge or poker. It does pick up somewhat in the second half. However by that time, one is on their way to snooze-ville. I give two thumbs up because it was dull, not stupid.

The twin brother of pathologist Michael Daniels has been missing for ten years, but Michael will not give up the search. His former girlfriend Kate is the daughter of corrupt mayor Harry S. Porter (we're told he is mayor of 'this city' and shown that it is a large city, but never told what city). She doesn't get along with her father, mainly because of his morals, and she tells Michael her mother was given six months to live two years ago. The mayor will do anything--short of hurting his daughter--to guarantee his re-election. Meanwhile, someone is watching Michael's apartment and taking pictures of him.At first there didn't seem to be much to this movie, and flashbacks to Michael's earlier life (including scenes with his brother Jesse) were frequent and annoying. But a major development halfway through gave it a new energy, and the second half was not only exciting but sometimes chilling, helped by very weird music and sound effects that included heartbeats. By the end things were very confusing, so it would be hard to call this movie predictable. For the type of movie, this was not excessively violent, though violence was a part of it. This probably wasn't anywhere close to being a classic, but it wasn't garbage either. Certainly the second half wasn't.

This is just an average movie. This movie has a pretty impressive list of character actors. Although they are highly underused. Kelly Rutherford and Channon Roe are much better in the highly missed, Kindred: The Embraced. One thing of note though, the lovely Ms. Rutherford has her first nude scene in this movie.
