After five (or six) years of vanilla-wedded bliss, ordinary suburbanites John and Jane Smith are stuck in a huge rut. Unbeknownst to each other, they are both coolly lethal, highly-paid assassins working for rival organisations. When they discover they're each other's next target, their secret lives collide in a spicy, explosive mix of wicked comedy, pent-up passion, nonstop action and high-tech weaponry.

An Exercise In Nonsense

FirstWitch

A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

Good scripture, I like this idea to reflect the reality marriage situations.

I was excited to watch this movie. I thought "cool a spy movie I haven't seen it will probably be really fun, steamy and action-packed with a nice story". Wrong!! This movie was really bad like seriously guys. 1) What happened? They were a married couple for 6 years, even with the tension they still got along and then all of a sudden they learn they are both top spies and all that is thrown in the garbage bin in mere milliseconds and all of a sudden they f** hate each other over their jobs?? What?? Like literally one scene after they come home and then she goes in the car they go from love to go f yourself I am coming to hunt our ass down and kill you, I never even loved you. A horrible plot, how is that believable?2) If she or he wanted to kill the other they had a million chances to do it. Directors, we get it cut to the point, is this foreplay and they will end up sleeping together and saying I love you sorry in the end? Or will they end up killing each other? Because if it is killing each other doesn't seem to be happening...3) What are all those expressions of disgust on Jolie's face? Like I found this whole role didn't suit her. Yes, she is sexy and stuff but this movie just didn't suit her. Something about the way she was acting and making expressions didn't fit with her.In conclusion, this movie is a pile of horse manure that they wrote in 2 minutes and said let's throw in a good looking couple and some gun shooting and some sexual tension and it will sell millions (which I bet this trash did). I like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie but this movie is embarrassing...

They're a lovely couple, aren't they? I'm watching this a couple weeks after Angelina Jolie made major headlines by her decision to divorce Brad Pitt, take the kids and split. I don't follow these celebrity trials and tribulations, but could anyone doubt that would happen someday? It just seems par for the course.Well this plays out like it might have been a warm-up for the divorce settlement. I have to say, their little marital spat in the movie was handled rather creatively. Set up as bait between rival government agencies to take each other out via the extermination route, John (Pitt) and Jane (Jolie) Smith display remarkable creativity in choice of tactics and methods. One major gaffe by Johnny though when he missed catching the base charge on the primary cable at Jane's company. Heck, everyone knows that's where you're supposed to look first.Hey, it's over the top and mindless, but at the same time it's a fun flick if you go for this kind of stuff. I don't know if either star ever looked better on screen, and Vince Vaughn was priceless in his role as the calm and collected buddy of Johnny-boy. I think they could have played down Janey's number of kills though, three hundred and twelve sounded like a bit of a stretch. With a hint of assassination tango, this is the kind of film you can watch and just let your mind wander without too much strain, so go ahead and give it a shot. Figuratively speaking of course.

What I love most about this movie is how it feels like a classic Hollywood picture from back in the 1960s. It is grand without trying to be grand. The action is outstanding, both gun on gun and hand to hand. The effects are energetic and etc. The movie is about a couple of spies who get married without knowing the other is a spy and both find out the hard way. This is a great action / comedy / drama / whatever you want it to be, it is just awesome and on point. People have been begging for a sequel to this ever since it came out but not me. Hollywood's track record when it comes to doing a good sequel is awful and I just don't want those sons of witches pumping out a cash grab flick with no heart. This is a much watch. End of review.
