This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Sometimes, movies change your perception of the world and open your eyes on something you didn't realized existed. This is that type of film. I was shocked with the intensity of it all, in a good way, for all its darkness, but also by its simplicity and subtlety in the treatment. This is a impressively shot film. The camera is nervous, yet precise. It never shows you things it doesn't want. I felt this was a very mastered film by a young filmmaker. Stellar performances from french actress Anna Mouglaglis, who is just incredible throughout the film. Tech credits are just perfect. Music grows on you, images stay in your mind long after you walk out of the theatre. This is powerful cinema that packs a hard punch, it doesn't hold back on you, yet it is never gratuitously violent. It is presented in such way that you just follow the character's story and immerse yourself in her dark path. The script has some holes, or maybe things I missed, but they are minor. It is great when movies move you like that.
