Why so much hype?

i must have seen a different film!!

Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

There was quite some talk during this movie's release as to how it is good.It increased my expectations but now only I had the time and mood to give it a watch.And it was pretty good.The design of the batman's cowl was the only issue for me.Even if it is a Victorian age film,they need not make the eyes square.I really missed the white eyes typical of animated Batman.Other than that I had no complaints.The story and writing was engaging from beginning till end and I didn't see the climax twist coming.Overall a nice addition to DC 's acclaimed animated movies list

Batman Gotham by gaslight I believe is based off a comic. I can't remember much of the interview so do bare with me.I am sorry but I am just not impressed with the movie at all. The whole story was predictable over who was behind the murders of those women that got killed by Jack the Ripper. I will give it some credit since the animation is good quality and the voice cast was really good. Especially since it was nice hearing Bruce Greenwood voice Batman again and I am looking forward to hearing him again in season 3 of Young Justice. Well at least we never had weird shippings like Batman and Batgirl/Nightwing and Harley Quinn seriously? God knows what was Timm thinking when he was making those movie. Now this? Even though Justice League Gods and monsters chronicles was messed up and nearly killed the DC Universe at least the movie made up for it (see my reviews). This on the other hand is just student work i mean seriously: Jim Gordon is the ripper?, Tim, Dick and Jason are orphans running the on the streets and are raised by some mugger to steel?, Barbra Gordon is a psychopath?,I could go on and on but I am going to end my review here.

The Movie about Batman in 19th Century version of Gotham who heard women screaming before he found the dead women body, Gotham heard about Jack the Ripper who coming after target victims its up to Batman gonna stop him for killing innocent women in Gotham. Meanwhile Bruce Wayne got arrested and he met the girl named Selina Kyle who help him out and tell Gordon herself about him is Batman as hero, but Bruce escape in prison and he being Batman to stop the real Jack the Ripper and save Selina in Gotham City World's Fair. Batman: Gotham by Gaslight is was a great animated movie between Hero Vs. serial killer in 19th century of Gotham City its another universe version based on DC graphic novel of the same name but I truly likes 80s Batman thing likes Arkham Asylum, The Killing Jokes, and Tim Burton's movie.

Batman: Gotham By Gaslight does have a fascinating take on the Dark Knight fighting Jack the Ripper, but the animation comes off as cheap at times.
