Best movie of this year hands down!

From my favorite movies..

A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.

When I found this movie, I thought it would just be another Disney animation in a magical land, with fairies, goblins and other creatures. It's much better. The whole story is based on the friendship of two preteens, a boy and a girl, who feel united by fantasy and imagination, tools that they learn to use to overcome and overcome the difficulties of everyday life. It's a film loaded with sensitivity and feelings, which focuses on the strength of creativity and friendship.Josh Hutcherson "was born" on TV but this film, along with "Polar Express", allowed him to jump to the movies and mature years later in "Hunger Games". He is a good actor, although still very young, and it shone in this film next to AnnaSophia Robb, equally competent in a character who is present even when it is absent. Being a teen movie, it is natural for adults to be in the shade. So I was very surprised to see Zooey Deschanel in the role of a mere music teacher, whose most notable sequence was a visit to a museum. Robert Patrick (T-1000 of "Terminator 2") was also very good in the role of a rough father, with his feet firmly on the ground, expecting from his son a maturity that he's not yet prepared to have. On a technical level, it's an elegant movie that looks simpler than it is. Good but discrete cinematography and high-quality CGI, focused on very specific points in the film, help to reinforce this sense of apparent simplicity. It's the beauty of simple things that stand out. And friendship among young people is so simple, isn't it?

There are lots of books about kids who don't fit in. There are lots of books about bullying. The movie industry has created scripts, utilizing these personalities and showing their struggles. This movie rises above the ordinary. It's a fantasy film that is also a love story. What is real? What is in the mind? It doesn't matter because love and friendship supersede a setting that some would say is impossible. The boy and girl create a world where they can get away from unfulfilled lives and revel in a kind of medieval ethos. They face monsters and trolls and other forces, but that is what gives them life. As they make their respective ways through Terabithia, outside factors begin to resolve themselves and an embracing of the the real world happens. Watch this with your kid.

I was just a little too old to have read the book when I was a kid, so I don't know how the film compares, but I can say it is a wonderful fantasy film.Jess is a budding young artist who's picked on at school, he befriends the new girl, Leslie, a social misfit who encourages him to dream in spite of his father's constant admonishments to "get your head out of the clouds". Together Jess and Leslie visit the magical woods of Terabithia, their after-school refuge. But real life has a funny way of throwing you curve balls when you least expect it, and life changes so fast when you're an adolescent.'Bridge to Terabithia' is a beautiful and unforgettable film filled with lessons about love and loss, friendship, regret, family, and the value of imagination, hard work and compassion.

I liked this movie to begin with. It has a good pace and starts with a great story. Then out of nowhere the story takes a horrible unexpected UNNECESSARY turn that totally ruins the movie. It tries but fails to make up for it after. Just horrible horrible.It also fails to explore the fantasy world more than it actually does. It only just scrapes the surface where it could've gone so much further (down the rabbit hole).Most of the characters in the movie are good, but some are unnecessary and should've been left out completely. They only take up space where there should've been more fantasy world exploration.
