Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

Fantastic!

I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

One of the rare films where I fully agree with the IMDb rating. It's not crap, but it definitely is a waste of time. Nothing really stands out in either positive or negative terms. One of the countless similar mediocre love stories with attempts of humor.5/10

So the main problem I had with this film was the fact that you would see some plot point going down and then it would be revealed that it was a script Dean wrote and at the end we see him hand over a script which was apparently the whole movie? Also in this scene he denies it being a true story so does that mean the whole movie was just something Dean wrote? It just didn't make sense to me what was and wasn't Dean's mind or imagination. So, lets move on to positives which unsurprisingly there isn't a ton of. The only real saving grace for this film was the cast which was AMAZING. Skylar Astin and Camilla Belle have great chemistry. Chad Michael Murray portrays the funniest character in the film. Alexis Knapp does a brilliant job portraying someone going through a tough time as do Skylar Astin, Dayo Okeniyi and Kenny Wormald. So in short the story was confusing for me but the amazing acting and dialogue made up for it but still did not guarantee a success for this movie

After seeing the trailer, I was expecting something amazing. I have to say I was a little disappointed. But overall, it was a pretty good movie. It did have its funny parts, especially since it was navigating the whole looking for love and having a girl best friend who you might have feelings for idea and the whole bromance thing was going on. The acting was pretty good and yes it was predictable and we have seen this idea before but come on, its a romcom. I was however expecting Camilla Belle, the actor that plays Tess, the main protagonist's best friend to have more screen time. There was some time spent with unnecessary things, like when the main character, Dean (Skylar Astin), spent time talking to a voice from the speakers on the train, that wasn't really there. I didn't really find it funny, more just unnecessary. It was a good movie, just some bits could have been built on better. I also didn't see the point in that girl that Dean had sex with and we didn't really know much about at all. But anyway it was fun watching Dean find himself and all the other bromance characters as they worked through what they had going on. And in the end, I was satisfied with spending an hour and a half watching Cavemen, not completely extremely in love with it, but satisfied.

Nice predictable romantic comedy with a decent cast well made, and full of warmth. This really is a sweet little movie, just 4 guys living , and partying together in a chance of a lifetime loft apartment. Nice how it all ties up so neatly in the end even if it is predictable. There is a lot of real "E" energy that you really get a feeling of between some of these characters that translates really well. I Enjoyed the fact that it is not real, really he named the girl his muse before he met her, it's all just a story. However it is a nice one so I recommend it to fans of the romantic, and the truth when it is right in your face. Relationships suck, but it is always fun to see two people who actually fit together.
