Good start, but then it gets ruined
Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
View MoreThe film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
View MoreIt is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
View MoreI liked cool cat, but his creator has broken laws and accused innocent reviewers and content creators of copyright infringement. Can't wait for Mumkey Jones' Cameo in the next movie!!
View MoreNow i gave this film 2 stars not 1 because of two reasons, 1.the film is enjoyable in it's own comical way, and 2.despite it being poorly made and low budget it "try's" to teach kids about numerous life lessons, and i put try's in quotation marks for a reason.Cool Cat saves the Kids is a low budget movie, and whilst numerous creators try to not show the low budget aspect of the film, Derek Savage the writer, Creator and Director fails to do this. The Cool Cat suit is cheesy and looks fake and is clearly a man in a costume, the acting is terrible and often over exaggerated by the man inside the costume, the child actors being that Child actors are clearly doing this for the 1st time but are still terrible throughout. One of the main selling points of the Movie was the Cameos by Erik Estrada and Vivica A. Fox, which straight away if you're promoting a movie based on actors in Cameos shows another sign of low budget and desperation, and whilst this scene is the 2nd most admirable in the movie as it shows them sticking up to the bully, both Fox and Estrada barely home in a performance and look intoxicated throughout the scene.Savage's approach to casting and characterisation is heavily misguided and is biased, this is most apparent in the casting of Butch the Bully, as the Character is over the top in the "Bullying", and the casting of an overweight actor is the Biased part, because this appears according to Savage if you're overweight you're a bully or a bad member of society, although is purely my interpretation.Of course one thing that heavily Affected this review and is whats most known about this film is Savages reactions to the criticism of his film, as Numerous You-tubers in reviews tore apart the film and Savage refused to accept this and started a threatening campaign against many of them, and of course in my mind this will effect my judgement of the works. So overall i give this film 2 out of 10, although i would recommend you give it a watch just to see how bizarre this film is.
View Morenow Im going to give this movie a somewhat fair review, outside of the BS Derek Savage did with IHE and yes while it is bullshit it shouldn't effect the movie in your eyes, however this movie...isn't worth the 10 UDS it is worth. After viewing it at my aunts house while baby sitting and see the full movie I've come to the conclusion that: Derek stick to making books because that is where your true talent lies, cinematography is not your strong suit and it clearly shows in this movie. You tried you hardest to teach good life lessons and for the most part they do show though very well, but some thing should never be done, such as opening text or messages from people you don't know, opening unsolicited mail that would clearly be a scam, replying to a bully when the best thing to do is ignore them and report them to a teacher or parent, saying you need to look both ways before crossing the street and then immediately having Cool Cat cross the street without looking both ways and the biggest going towards a school knowing full well there is someone with a gun at said school. You also seemed to show off a small bit with your Van Halen guitar, while admittedly is pretty awesome it isn't something children would know about, nor most of the references you pointed out in the Hollywood parade scene.Over all I have to give this movie as 3/10 not because of your reaction to IHE but just because of the terrible nature of this movie.
View MoreI will begin my review with the fact that the Academy Awards are a massive fraud. They claim to promote quality, but how could they ignore this work of art? The film that makes The Godfather look like Foodfight, Cool Cat Saves the Kids is even better than the masterpiece Birdemic. Even glimpsing anything else makes me want to wash out my eyes with ether. The costuming, the best I have ever seen, is so good they use the same suit for both Cool Cat and his mom, who could win Mr and Ms. Universe if they ran.Even the technical prowess here is astonishing. With artistically visible shadows of the cameraman and class-A animations relegating Pixar to the dust heap, audiences will remain in awe of Fred Savage, the mastermind behind Gun Safety For Women and the Cool Cat and Trolly the Trout books. Not to mention the clear winner of Best Song at the next Oscars, which Cool Cat and "Daddy Derek" are seen writing.Next, there is the unalienable message they have provided in a subtle, yet emotional way. It always teaches children (and adults!) the right thing, like responding to hate with lame comebacks! Not to mention the symbol of political corruption in the scene where Cool Cat sprints across the street without looking moments after chastising another not to. The acting here is amazing, in particular Erik Estrada whose classic lines "There he is!" and "That kid kicked sand in Cool Cat's face!" are the highlights of his deeply provoking testimony to life. Butch the Bully rightfully teaches all audiences that bullies never have any emotions other than pettiness, and, anyways, can never really hurt anyone ever. Daddy Derek is a shoo-in for Best Actor, and Director as well.I have left Cool Cat for last. My idol, my hero, the only worthwhile contribution to society! How his paws fumble with all props, what a symbol for the deep flaws of society! His artistic trippy dream sequence! What an amazing performance, ladies and gentlemen. Not to mention the plot sense, which, with Daddy Savage's vision wander all over the map, exploring every children's safety topic in the book. This life-changing movie also shows the Hollywood Parade, Gun Safety, and shows off Savage's amazing Van Halen autographed guitar. Because it was so amazing it deserved a scene. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to get plastic surgery to mimic Cool Cat's face. Bye, and remember to watch this life-changing movie.
