Dead Silence is a horror film directed by James Wan, so you automatically know it's going to be good. James Wan just does great work, simple as that, and dead silence is no exception. This movie did not receive good reviews from film critics and I can't figure out why. This had everything anyone would ever look for in a quality horror movie. First of all, it actually pretty good acting, which is actually something that isn't terribly common in this kind of movie. I especially like Amber Velleta in her role, very fine performance on her part. The script suffices, it may not be the best script for a horror movie you've ever seen, but it's not bad. Not at all. It has plenty of scary scenes that involve a strong creepy factor. The dolls were the main contributing factor that created the creepy feel throughout the film. Even the very first opening sequence features a very scary event that occurs to someone the lead knows. I suggest this horror film for anyone and everyone who enjoys this kind of movie. No it's not on a paranormal activity or insidious level, but it's pretty entertaining and scary. 8/10.

If you want a 90's horror made recently, this is what somewhere close."Was it interesting?" The basic story was alright if just a retooling of a classic plot. Some of the characters were asking to die, but not all.1.5 out of 3."Was it memorable?" The doll was mostly disappointing, just there to be creepy. The antagonist was rather cliché.1 out of 3."Was it entertaining?" Most of this movie was just bad writing with even worse dialog. Special effects were fine though cheap.1 out of 3.Starting with 1 (because the bad writers want it that way), 1 + 1.5 + 1 + 1 = 4.5 This is definitely a 4. This is a movie that was made 2 decades too late.

Actually, I expected movie like this before I watched it. The only reason I started watching it was talk about big twist ending I read somewhere. I don't know why they make movies like this anymore. Full of clichés, I don't know have they skip any of them - ghosts jumping around on every step, scary dolls, dumb police officer, pale crazy old people with secrets from past... Main actor acting is very poor. I had no sympathy for him, what so ever. Everything is already seen in every other horror movie of past two decades. Usually in every movie I find at least one good side, but in this movie there isn't such a thing. Shallow fun for people (as I read in some comments, because for me it isn't even fun, I kept watching on clock to wait the ending).
