SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?
View MoreAlthough it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
View MoreAt first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
View MoreThis movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
View MoreMy mum often picks up cheap horror movies she finds at yard sales for me, and sometimes she brings home those DVDs with a handful of horror movies on them that generally suck. But I was looking over one of them and noticed the title "Evil Bong." It's the only movie I've ever watched on the disc, and probably the only movie I've ever watched on ant of those DVDs. It's one of those movies were the plot is just so ridiculous, and the budget so low, that you laugh through the entire thing. A great movie to watch with a group of friends. If you enjoy the type of movies that are so bad they're good, I would recommend this to you. I've seen it about a dozen times and still put it on when I'm with friends. I can't believe there's more of them!
View MoreSPOILER ALERT. If you don't want to know what happens in this movie, read no farther.Let start off by saying if I could give this movie a negative score I would but for purposes of a one to ten scale it gets a one. First off there is nothing cult about this movie at all. There are no for last of a better term "real" stoners in this movie minus Tommy Chong who doesn't even have a real big role. Its just a bunch of stupid frat boys and a token nerd. Plus its no wonder the bong sends frat boys souls to the strip join for there punishment. Where one minute they get tortured, then the next they are having a good old time. No creativity was put into this movie. I spent a lot of time fast forwarding looking for something good to happen. Kills were lame and unimpressive. I found myself not liking a single character. The only semi enjoyable part of the movie(and its a stretch) was Tommy Chong's cameo. Personally don't waste your time. Its rather sad because there was no reason for this movie to be as awful as it was. Plus I've been a fan of Blue Moon Films. Oh well. Can't win them all.
View MoreI read a review of beerfest where evil bong was mentioned and thought that sounds like the sort of movie I like to torture my hon with and looked it up, yes it sounded perfect. A couple of days later we sat down to watch it and it was just like it sounded, but in saying that I have to also say I was more amused and entertained by it than the last half dozen movies I've seen. The basic premise is into a flat\dorm full of adolescent male stoner\muscle man\surfer types a nerd is introduced, hijinks ensue, the difference is an evil bong that tries to kill the foursome by sucking their souls after a session. The acting was so so and the special effects what ones there were weren't that impressive but it was really funny in places and tommy chongs cameo at the end was worth the wait. So if you have a couple hours to kill and have had a big toke and want to lay back and veg watch this.
View MoreFirst, I must stress that I only saw this flick with the sole purpose of giving a lousy-rated stoner-flick a chance just for the heck of it and I suppose there is no need to mention that I had close to non-existing expectations when I hit the play button on my remote control.Noteworthy is, that the low-budget feeling was definitely evident but not in a charming way such as 'Bad Taste' or anything like it, but more as though they, at times, were trying to put a vile upon the viewer and thus conceal the truth, investing the whole budget in bong equipment and fake ganja while letting the plot develop (without suspension) in a limited number of rooms (I will not tell you how many, as I might spoil your fun watching this). Not to shed light upon the characters, who were so stereotyped that the producers could never have been expecting even stoners to enjoy their flick, depicting stoners as being utterly dumb and only longing for the next hit and getting zoned out - an illustration of something I cannot imagine too many of us are able to confirm, with that said, keeping in mind that I hang around stoners myself. With the evil bong seizing control over the poor stoners and the way it was depicted, we all burst out of laughter, sort of agreeing in unison that the motives behind the flick were all but to enjoy stoners nor anyone else who might be into stoner flicks.Do yourself a favor and stay away from this flick unless you do not wish to carry out a task as mine defined: "watching a lousy-rated stoner-flick just to be able cry out 'I did it'" aloud - checked.2/10
