As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

maybe, a useful film. for the moments of crisis, sadness, lost of hope. a film about the trust. and about the magic of love. and about the joy and hope and the second chance. nothing surprising. nothing unknown. except, maybe, the convincing side. the work, admirable, no doubt, of Morgan Freeman. and the lovely science of detail. short, a film who must see. for the remind of a special state of soul. and for admire. the pure beauty of life.

This movie does not have a cohesive plot or point. Half of the time I was wondering whether or not one of the 30+ characters were going to die. This movie fails to movie in the worst ways possible. Morgan Freeman does a great job at being a creepy old man who ends the movie by asking one of the main character's to come be his "little girl". He also watched a couple have sex in a football stadium for longer than necessary. I mean he could have acted a little more surprised or even shocked. Instead he just sits there and watches them for an inordinate amount of time. Oh wait, I forgot that this movie has no sense of time whatsoever.

I happen to watch the movie lately .. and loved it. Yes .. its a bit predictable , but is a very simply put pleasant movie. I would rate it 10 for a DVD rent. Worth spending 2 hours at home , with your loved ones. Morgan Freeman is definitely the high point. Its funny, tense, sad ,complex and is definitely about LOVE. The acting is superb and subtle. Alexa Davalos looks really beautiful in this movie (i had seen her in defiance earlier). I could not much weak links in the entire movie .. yes there are a few nude scenes (slightly explicit) , but they don't stand out since they form an integral part of the story. One of the few movies which i did not want to end.

I suppose some people cannot relate to a movie with no explosions or car chases, so they will not like this one. There were some good performances, but the film is not flawless. The first "love-feast" in the film just sort of drops off the radar screen, after making one wish to know more about how that relationship went. And Morgan Freeman is sort of getting typecast in the old sage role, but at his age, and with that voice, it might be inevitable. While I might not have cared a lot for Alexa Davalos' character, she played it well, and looked great doing it. Same for Radha Mitchell. The film, along with Freeman, muses a lot about the nature of love. If you can stand this type of film it is well worth checking out.
