It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.

It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

I can describe this movie as one of the best movies I have ever seen. The story started obscure but interesting, then the emotional triggers started until the end. The scenes managed to carry the emotions to the audience very well. Acting by Xavier and Tony was perfect in my opinion. Perhaps, because Xavier is photogenic, I liked his character very much. This movie can't be categorized as a horror movie at all. It's a new genre of movies in my opinion. It's somehow has some emotions you can feel when you watch last hour of "Martyrs". I think the movie could have been far better if Carrie Anne role was different and took more space. Generally, I liked this movie a lot and added it to my top 100 movies of all time.

This is a modern day setting for the classic Frankenstein tale, including the little girl and blind man. Adam is artificially created and narrates in very intelligent first person, a level of intellect he never really achieves in the film. He is left for dead a few times and is abused by the system which sees his skin lesion deformity as ugly. The film is not a real horror or science fiction thriller, but a drama that makes us look at how society, especially our law enforcement, treats the mentally ill and how society marginalizes those who are different. Perhaps the most unfortunate aspect of the theme is that the director/script writer felt he needed to inform his audience verbally what he was attempting to do visually. This made the film unnecessarily preachy when he had succeeded visually. Sometimes less is more. Now for what it was, Xavier Samuel nailed the role as "The Monster" and certainly deserves top billing for his lead and performance. Won't appeal to those looking for a sci-fi horror thriller or fans of the LAPD.Guide: F-bomb, blurred camera phone sex/nudity.

This movie perfectly, touchingly and cleverly shows how cruel and superficial mankind is, and in a much better/more artful/elaborated way than the simply repelling Game of thrones (written by a fat horny guy/the worst of mankind about the worst of mankind and obviously for the worst of mankind). This extremely well-performed drama (as others pointed out before: if you are looking for a simple shocker/horror flick - which is absolutely fine, but then - this is not the right movie for you) shows that people with few luck (without loving parents or in this case creators, without perfect health and (often linked to this) without great looks) your life will be not much more then suffering, even if you have a good heart and do not understand (or deserve) the hatred thrown at you. In addition a great novel take on the original/the Mary Shelley-version. The ones with an open mind and heart: give this one a shot, the rest can keep watching Game of thrones and wallow in stale, filthy clichés (it's okay to be voyeuristic and watch it, but do not pretend to be watching great literature, it is purely dumb, filthy sex and violence-BS).

6.75 of 10. Frankenstein zombie or Frankenstein clone? It's definitely not Frankenstein robot. Nonetheless, it feels like a horror story inspired by Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? - or at least the the question, not the more developed Blade Runner adaptation. It's better than any of the film/TV versions of Frankenstein. Rather than trying to stay literal to a story we know is, at least technically, nonsense, it pursues a more realistic though still at the moment purely sci-fi angle. What makes the film engaging beyond the slightly revised plot setup is the pacing and the thoughtful adaptation and fitting in of the book characters that interact with "Monster". What makes it less engaging is the narration. By the end it feels like a setup for either a TV series or a sequel or 2 rather than a complete story.
