Watch something else. There are very few redeeming qualities to this film.

I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

This movie is a great family movie. Especially for mothers and daughters. It was very entertaining and up to date. I will definitely be watching it again.

2003's Freaky Friday starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis is a modern remake of Disney's popular 1976 Freaky Friday starring JodIe Foster and Barbara Harris with the set formula where the daughter transfers bodies with the mother whom then in turn has to go off to work and the mother transfers bodies with the daughter whom then in turn has to go back to school. The Freaky Fridays have a classic movie premise. Lindsay's and Jamie Lee's Freaky Friday is maybe not quite the overall impressive technical achievement that Jodie's and Barbara's original is, which is so good and such a kind, easy showing, but this Freaky Friday is actually better in a lot of ways. It's funnier, I think. It may be way more bogged down and a little more astatic due to its attempt at a more perceptible plot than the original which had a way more indiscernible plot, but at least it tries. I like this Freaky Friday even more than I do the original because of Lindsay and Jamie Lee and it being from 2003 and it being a little hipper and a little sexier but the '73 one is like, way better, but, just in like an existential kinda sense. I know the original is really good but I love them both because they're both really great, I think. No, I know.

Fifteen year old Anna Coleman is convinced that her mother, widowed psychiatrist Dr Tess Coleman, doesn't understand her… and to a degree she is right. Her mother believes that her daughter doesn't appreciate how hard adult life is… and she is also right. Things come to a head when Anna's band is due to take part in an important audition on the night of her mother's wedding rehearsal. This leads to a confrontation at a Chinese restaurant; seeing them arguing the owner's mother gives each of them a fortune cookie and says something in Chinese. As Anna and her mother read their fortunes they feel an earthquake, which nobody else in the restaurant appears to notice. The next day they are in for a shock; Anna is in her mother's body and her mother is in her body! After getting over the initial shock they must try to live each other's lives. At first they are somewhat horrified at how the other lives but as each sees the other's lives they grow to understand each other more.I watched the original 'Freaky Friday' as a child in the seventies and again a few years ago; having watched this new version I'd say it is a reboot rather than a remake… the premise is the same most key details have changed. The most obvious difference is that the daughter is noticeably older here which means that it is also aimed at a slightly older audience. The story is fun and provides plenty of laughs as well as a few potentially cringe inducing moments involving the boy Anna fancies. Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis do great jobs especially when their characters have swapped bodies and each must play somebody of a very different age. The supporting cast is pretty solid too; especially Mark Harmon who plays Tess's fiancé. Overall this fill is a lot of fun without featuring anything that is likely to offend.

"Family Fun" doesn't need to be completely innocuous or empty-headed, and this comedy is a well-crafted, easy-going, energetic time-bending teen fantasy--that will also appeal to parents, as both generations get in their licks when mother and daughter change identities for an inch of time--long enough for either to learn some worthwhile lessons.Freaky Friday is not a stupid film, nor is it cutting-edge--Curtis and Lohan are obviously having a delightful time, and if you're not looking for consciousness-raising of any significance, you will too! It's pleasant to watch a pro at work with a talented younger performer, and with luck, perhaps Lohan will someday achieve the promise as an adult she shows in this delightful romp.
