Really Surprised!
Good start, but then it gets ruined
Am I Missing Something?
Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
View MoreHatchet III picks up were part II left us--Marybeth trying to kill Crowley. It takes a couple of attempts till he finally falls on a running chainsaw and he's split in half. She scalps him and walks into a sheriff's station. Of course no one believes her and they place her in a cell. After some discussion finally deputies, the sheriff, paramedics (why paramedics?), a SWAT team go to the swamps and find countless bodies and body parts. They start dragging body bags onto the boat of the paramedics.Meanwhile an annoying reporter who has been listening to the police frequency shows up at the station, demands to speak to Marybeth. Turns out the reporter is the ex-wife of the sheriff on top of that so she manages to manipulate one of the deputies into doing whatever she wants. She has bad news. Crowley can't be killed. He always returns because he's on a mission and Marybeth is the solution--she and Crowley's father, or rather his ashes. So the three go to pick up the ashes in order to confront Crowley and put and end to him.Crowley of course has resurfaced and is killing any all law enforcement he can. A paramedic, a SWAT girl, and the sheriff manage to hide in a boat. It's not long until Crowley shows up and starts making his way inside. That's when the other three show up and try to lure him to them so they can present him with daddy's ashes. The other two Hatchets were alright but didn't convince me. One problem is that poor Kane Hodder is made to look so dysmorphic under all that make up that he just doesn't look menacing at all. And in the past neither the story nor characters were all that interesting. Part III is more focused, has a better story and it's just so enthusiastic about gore. And there's lots of great gore. I also enjoyed the subtle comedy and then the hilarious politically incorrect scene with Sid Haig. Director McDonnell also does a better job than Green. All that's missing in Hatchet III was more of Danielle Harris, who doesn't get to do a whole lot here, and more nudity, and it could have been a 10/10.
View MoreDespite shooting Victor Crowley point-blank in the head with a shotgun, ramming her fist into what remains of his face, and pushing him onto a chainsaw, Marybeth (Danielle Harris) doesn't stop the cursed maniac from returning to kill again the very next night. To end the horror once and for all, she must break the curse by returning to the swamp and giving Crowley what he wants: the remains of his long-dead father. If you enjoyed the comedy-tinged, splatter-drenched silliness of the previous two Hatchet movies, then there's no reason at all for you not to be entertained by this third chapter: let's be honest, they don't exactly try to reinvent the wheel. Director BJ McDonnell (taking over the reins from Adam Green) knows exactly what his audience demands—more over-the-top splatter, more cheesy dialogue, and a cast featuring even more familiar genre faces (Zach Galligan, Caroline Williams, Sid Haig, Derek Mears)—and he delivers it in spades, Crowley's rampage resulting in countless creative and very gruesome deaths.6.5 out of 10, rounded up to 7 for IMDb.
View MoreNot sure where to start with this one! I mean, it was OK but a few things didn't make it as good!Hatchet III picks up from where the 2nd one ended, Marybeth kills Victor with her shotgun! But! He comes back to life again despite his face being shot in! As Marybeth walks away Victor appears out of nowhere & tries to kill Marybeth but falls in his chainsaw cutting him up in several pieces!Marybeth arrives at the police station with Victors scalp & her shotgun all blood caked & filthy! She then gets put in prison. A reported who knows the story persuades Marybeth to help her for her story along side killing off Victor permanently! Now, although the film was gory, graphic & vicious! I couldn't help noticing the blood was too red & too thin! It seemed more like red watery paint was getting sprayed about & at people! The deaths got abit repetitive & tame as the film progressed! Don't get me wrong! It was gory & right up my street, but because the deaths seemed abit rushed & were quite over used! The characters were OK, not much to say as you only see them for 5-10 mins in the film!Story-line was fairly interesting! Get Victor Crowley's fathers ashes to kill him off for good! There was however a surprise visit from Ben! Yes from the first Hatchet film who we only see for no more than 10 seconds flat! Right before he get a hatchet to his face! But again the films, as a whole, had the stupid female sole survivor horse crap in them! I dislike that very much in these films! Not much else to say! The ending was good! Marybeth smashed the urn onto Victors face & chose to fire a shot at him via a shotgun screaming "F*#K IT!!"But! We don't know if Marybeth survived or not! Have to wait & see when a Hatchet IV comes out!Overall! It was an average film! Not amazing! Not Crap! But OK!7/10
View MoreA vast improvement after the dragged out and seemingly unnecessary sequel Hatchet 3 returns with an electrifying opening scene returning it mostly to it's gory roots. Along for the ride this time around are a cast of horror vets including Caroline Williams of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Derek Mears of the Jeepers Creepers films and a few others. Danielle Harris reprises her role as Mary Beth much better and contained in this installment. After murdering Crowley she returns to town blood soaked with a rifle and is immediately arrested. But a curious reporter joins forces with her to end it once and for all. There are some super impressive death scenes as should be expected including a face fisting, many creative decapitations and countless other body parts being removed. but what makes the material work most of all in this sequel is that it has a point and is heading towards a slightly rushed but fulfilling conclusion to the Hatchet trilogy. One can only hope for more carnage with a sequel that hopefully moves the action into the mainland and Mardi gras. ***.5/5
