There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.
View MoreAfter playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.
View MoreJust intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
View MoreThis is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
View MoreWith 7.8 ratings out of 10 from 489 registered and educated users as films viewers around the world at http://www.IMDb.com/title/tt5200814/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 (Biggest films comments sites on Internet with 65 million registered users from all countries) is among best films of 2015 in all world and in any language having Islamic values included in it as all Pakistani Muslims in the film only. I saw it in best cinema of Pakistan, many Pakistani cinemas are even far better than many American cinemas and vice versa as latest technology wise and their huge size. Saw Nikah (Islamic way of wedding) 1st time in Cinema after I had seen Titanic as 1st film of my life in cinema in Ho Mann Jahaan Pakistani film since 1997. So felt very pleasing. While Islamic values are displayed in every Pakistani film due to about 99% Muslim population in the country. Since 2013 or some earlier by introducing latest technologies in film industry competing International standards with highly educated new Pakistani film makers like Bilal Lashari (Film making graduate from America)of great Warr Pakistani film (at http://www.IMDb.com/title/tt1821700/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_3 with 8.5 ratings with 27,235 users ) of 2013 almost all Pakistani films have proved highly successful if compared with IMDb.com ratings for these films even with extremely low budget films if these are compared with Indian or Hollywood films. So Pakistani films are going to rock the world due to great beautiful Islamic peaceful values in them.Currently about 70% population of Pakistan is illiterate & poor so they don't afford to see films in cinema and they have also not a amazing vision to perceive great films having best possible visions of a nation or particular circumstances or scenarios etc. But any good great ruler in Pakistan can change destinies of Pakistani nation forever as a highly educated nation with great positive Islamic values as extremely important country strategically if seen on map of world. International experts are making too much expectations from Pakistan as a stunning Islamic nuclear country for whole Islamic world and rest of the world with China as its best friend as military, trade wise and in every way since 1948. Extremely rich with natural resources & about 90% highly educated citizens 6 central Asian Muslim landlocked countries are very much dependent to use Pakistan's deep sea port (3rd deepest sea port in world with biggest hot sea of world in front of it) as only best option for them for importing & exporting for trade with world. Bordering China, India, Iran (having world 2nd largest natural gas and 4th largest oil reserves ) and Afghanistan increases importance of Pakistan too much more on map of world. As being 4th time maximum world champion of Men's field hockey (3rd most seen sports in world), have most Champions awards in Squash sports and 1992 Cricket (2nd most seen sports in world) world champion & having extremely beautiful natural places to visit with too many mountains' beautiful sites at thousands of feet's heights, having a big desert, 700 kilometers untouched hot sea beaches, having all 4 weathers summer, winter, spring , having 2nd largest salt ranges mountain in world and having much more Pakistan is among top most countries for tourists attractions. Currently by military war against terrorists since 2013 in Pakistan about at least 98% terrorism in Pakistan is ended so country has become extremely peaceful for everyone.
View MoreFinally a movie released in these two three that is decent, well choreographed and well written. The characters are all easy to relate to on so many different levels. Oh and the wardrobe was amazing. The dresses from start to finish are beautiful. Also note that Coke Studio is sponsoring it so red is used in EVERY SINGLE SCENE (just saying in case, like me, you like red). This movie also has no item songs(thank God for that) and is not vulgar at all. The film has specifically been made for people who find it difficult to tell parents what they really want to do in life, and for the parents who fail to understand the interests of their child i.e they want their children to fulfill their dreams.
View MoreRefreshing Start, immersive throughout, excellent execution and beautiful music.Ho Mann Jahaan had everything that a modern day movie should have. It was relatable, it was not far fetched and it all seemed honest. This was a movie based on the life of three friends from College, how their lives were interconnected and how events unfolded as time progressed. I know it all sounds like an over used and cliché idea. But the way it was executed, connecting with how the different facets of society and family structures in Pakistan operate did not allow the viewer to think 'cliché' even once. And the way it was panned out, it all linked back together like a well direction-ed, well steered boat. In the end Converging together with the initial message of the film, 'dosti'(Friendship).Ignoring the occasional flaw when the musician's fingers or hands were not moving on the guitar yet the tune was altering. The direction, the location and they way the film was paced was impeccable. It may have seemed a bit stretched a little before and after the intermission, but that effect was unnoticeable when fused with beautiful yet refreshing music.None of the characters seemed unnecessary, everyone on-screen had some part to play. And everyone played their part near perfect. Be it the evergreen Bushra Ansari, the beautiful Mahira Khan, Adeel Hussain or Sheheryar Munawar. Each actor had a distinctive character, no one seemed to be put on the sideline and none of the characters seemed fake. Which is extremely important because the actors need to believe in characters as a start to even have a chance of making the audience believe. The music was the undisputed star of this movie. Considering that the plot was largely based on music, the art itself. The film shined in the music that it brought forward. Be it the beautiful Balochi tunes, Atif aslam's Dil Kare, the pure entertainer Shakar Wanda or most importantly the classical Revitalized Zoheb Hassan and Nazia Hassan's 'Dosti'. This particular song may I add fit perfectly with the story line of the movie.Besides all the technical aspects of the movie. In the end what does it or breaks it for the viewer is whether he/she is able to 'feel' with the movie. Does the viewer walk out of the theater with a smile on his/her face? This movie was able to create that feel and that is why I loved this movie. This is indeed a wonderful start to the New Year and a wonderful first step of the year in the revival of the Pakistani Film Industry.4.5*/5*
View MoreThis movie is the first major Pakistani release of the year, and quite honestly fell a bit flat. The concept on which this movie is based upon is outdated and contradictory to the kind of movies that Pakistan has been releasing thus far. The script was basic, acting mediocre at times and general execution and direction dull.I didn't see any diverse acting skills, instead some of the scenes came off as forced, stilted and overacted. The editing was choppy and the promise of a musical extravaganza failed to meet any expectation whatsoever. After watching some recent release's that the Pakistan film industry has to offer this effort fell far below to what else is out there. It seems that there is a danger for future releases to fall in to this tired concept and just because it has a couple of big name stars attached to the project that it is automatically acceptable for an international release. A poor effort overall. Leaves a lot to be desired.
