Purely Joyful Movie!
Nice effects though.
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
View MoreVery good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
View MoreWarning! Ages over 12 into adult will probably not like this film except for those that retain some of their childhood. Teenagers will not like it.It is sort of a cross between Alvin and the Chipmunks and Polar Express in feel. It is about the animated son of the Easter Bunny named E.B. and his real world pal who is sort of like him. So like Who Framed Roger Rabbit it combines animation with real people. What got my attention was that rabbit hole on a Pacific Island. Well, not literally but you will get the idea when you think about that hole for a while. The animation of the Easter Factory was superb which was why I raised it from an eight to a nine. It is short on story line. But the way they merged real people with animation made the movie fun and refreshing. It is recommended for children and those who like animation. Who would have thought a movie with the title Hop would be a pleasant little film? It didn't win any awards but it will entertain most young children.
View MoreHop is a cross between The Santa Clause Movie and Alvin And The Chipmunks mashed up together and tells the story of a young rabbit named EB who dreams of being a drummer. But his father(voiced by Hugh Laurie) doesn't want his son to become a drummer so EB(voiced by Russell Brand who also makes a 11 second cameo as himself in this movie) runs away and jumps into a magical portal that leads him to Hollywood. So EB meets a young man named Fred O Hare(played by Enchanted's James Marsden) who seen the Easter Bunny as a kid,who freaks out that EB can talk after Fred accidentally hits him with his car and he decides to help him out. So will EB get his fulfilling dream as a drummer and go into the Hoff's Got Talent contest(David Hasslehoff is in this too btw)?Overall this film is for pure entertainment its not Oscar Worthy or anything and its overall very silly from EB pooping candy out of his backside,to that irritating Spanish chick(voiced by Hank Azaria). Even the voice for EB was so annoying in fact when I seen the teaser trailer I thought that either James Marsden would voice the rabbit or he would get transformed into a rabbit, but NO it was Russell Brand who got the part instead.Overall if you have any young siblings at home than check it out of not avoid
View MoreEven if you're past the age of believing in the easter bunny, it's still a cute classic for this time of year. It has great animation as well. The bunny just sort of blends with the real world like it's there, which is also in part of the actors, I realize, who are great from beginning to end. You can easily fall in love with all the characters and it's hilarious. I remember first seeing this in the theater two years ago with my mom and the little girl I was babysitting, and all three of us left with smiles on our faces. I think it does have a couple errors, but what movie doesn't? E.B. is the stereotypical teenager who just wants to be understood by his father, and by the end, he gets his wish while still making everyone else happy. Compromise! :D This is a great movie with a great script, great actors, and a great moral.
View MoreWhat a load of old bunkum this is. Absolute, unmitigated drivel.40 year old teenager still living at home with mum and dad needs to get a job...and a life...instead he gets a creepy bunny.Corn is piled on schmaltz is piled on tripe. Bunny screws up face and poos out jelly beans and 40yr old's sister eats them. Hilarious. Laugh? I thought I'd never start. And I didn't.The Hoff plays his part like he was p*ssed up...which he probably was. I don't blame him.And the moral of this story? Follow your dream unless you are a bunny who plays the drums in which case go back to being the Easter Bunny if it pleases your father.Sweet enough to rot your brain.
