Tied for the best movie I have ever seen

Best movie of this year hands down!

Too much about the plot just didn't add up, the writing was bad, some of the scenes were cringey and awkward,

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

The Shikon jewel, a stone that grants great powers to demons has been shattered. A demon named Menomaru finds a shard, and uses it to avenge against Inuyasha's dad that imprisoned Menomaru's dad. Now i know the main flaw of this movie to some is the fact that is very similar of the series, some may call it a "very long episode". Well, while the plot doesn't differ from the series, you get the chance to explore the relationships between the characters a lot deeper than you're allowed to in the series. The story is similar to the main plot, Naraku's still alive and matters not in this movie. But you get to see a lot of stir between Inuyasha, Kagome and Kikyo, and the animation is much better then the series of course, the sightings are beautiful and some of the scenes really touching. Yes, it may merely appear as a long episode, so those who aren't fan of the series may not appreciate it that much, but all in all (fan as I am) the movie stands on its own, and I truly recommend it to Inuyasha fans and those who simply enjoy a good anime film.

While I don't quite agree with the reviewer who said this is better than the TV show, this is definitely one of my favorite movies (and I just bought it yesterday).For those unfamiliar with the show, the movie provides basic introductions and some facts needed about the main characters. For a better synopsis, though, either check out the "Special Footage" section of the DVD (which can seem disjointed) or find an online episode guide (TV Tome is helpful).Inuyasha: Affections Touching Across Time (US Title) definitely has some moments that truly stand out (not saying the rest of the movie is bad, but these moments are exceptionally memorable.) For instance, the meeting of Kagome and Kikyo after Kagome is forced to shoot Inuyasha with an arrow, leaving him slumped against the God Tree...with both girls in miko clothing, it is eerie to see....especially Kikyo's words to Kagome: "You truly are my reincarnation"...And let's not forget the meeting of Kikyo and Sesshomaru! Short, yes, but definitely a memorable moment, in my mind.Overall, InuYasha, Affections Touching Across Time is a great movie that does the TV show and manga proud.

I recommend this movie to people who have met two prequisits: Those who like anime, and for those who like Anime to watch at least the first 20 or so episodes of Inuyasha. If you've watched that many or have a good understanding of the Inuyasha storyline and characters, then watch the movie too. I felt that this movie was BETTER than the series itself and was not just like a long episode. Rather, it was more of an in-depth description of the characters.If I had to give a score, up to 100, 1 being a being a home video with the cover still on and a broken microphone, 100 being something that you will watch over and over again for eternity, I'd give it:89/100I give it less than 90 because the 2nd movie was better than this one.
