The story of Steve Jobs' ascension from college dropout into one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century.

A bit overrated, but still an amazing film

Glucedee

It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

The film attempts to cram 40 years of history into 2 hours. It starts with Steve Jobs (Ashton Kutcher) dropping acid and hanging out with the counter culture group. It shows us that he was a very flawed man and early on is called an a-hole. In addition to glimpses of Steve's personal life, we see his difficulty in dealing with the various suits who want to make dollars and sense of the company. The main problem with the film is that Jobs is the only character that is developed and he is unlikeable. There is very little connection to the viewer. While I love a 60's music soundtrack, the songs they selected were hit and miss with clearly better selections available. The credits show us a picture of the real life individual next to the actor that played them as a way to say, "Aren't we clever?" The secondary actors were cardboard cutouts. The film sends a message of innovation and thinking outside of the box, which is weakened by the personality portrayed of Jobs. Worth a view as a rental.Parental Guide: F-bomb. No sex or nudity.

I'm not a big fan of Ashton Kutcher so I wasn't really looking forward to watching this film, but I was interested in Steve Jobs. The movie starts off slow in my opinion and at times it seemed to drag on a little. I don't think Ashton Kutcher was right to play this part. While he bears a resemblance to Steve Jobs I don't think he fully pulled it off. I didn't like the scene where he tells his pregnant girlfriend to leave and subsequently denies the girl is his daughter, that seemed very shallow to me.Obviously he eventually has a relationship with his daughter. If Steve Jobs was really like that in real life then he wasn't the most nicest person. He seemed like a very intense person who if things didn't go his way then he flipped out. I haven't seen the other Steve Jobs film yet but I'm hoping it's better than this one. I think Ashton should stick to romantic comedies and well... Comedies.

You work for a huge corporation. This is a typical week in your life. You go to work and do a lot of overtime, with pleasure, because you are a workaholic.Your boss is brilliant, but also a bit of an ass**le. He shouts a lot and fires some of your colleagues. Other colleagues resign. You have lots of meetings. Some of your products make huge profits, others do not. On Friday your boss announces the launch of a new product. The end.-----------------------------------------While it may be thrilling to purchase your next Apple gadget, learning how they came to exist and some stuff about the man behind the corporation is just this much fun.

2015 may be the year of Steve Jobs in terms of movies. Michael Fassbender is considered an Oscar front-runner in a film directed by Danny Boyle, Academy Award winner for "Slumdog Millionaire". However, there also already was a Steve Jobs biopic done 2 years ago. It has not received favorable reviews as a whole and director Joshua Michael Stern is fairly unknown just like writer Matt Whiteley. The main character is played by Ashton Kutcher here and he got a Razzie performance for his portrayal. I personally believe this was not justified. He did a fairly decent job in portraying the Apple mastermind and you could definitely see Jobs' mannerisms in Kutcher's performance. Also a thumbs-up for the makeup department. Kutcher looks nothing like Jobs, but they made it work.I believe that, as a whole, this was a movie that did not have really many great moments, but it was solid from start to finish and even at a massive runtime of over 2 hours, there were hardly no segments when the film dragged. This has received a lot of unjust criticism. I personally enjoyed the watch and it also made an informative impact as it tells you a lot about the life and career of Steve Jobs. I myself never worked with an Apple computer, certainly prefer Windows, so it's even more impressive that I got to like this film. Thumbs up. Good job from everybody involved.
