Truly Dreadful Film

ScoobyMint

Disappointment for a huge fan!

Infamousta

brilliant actors, brilliant editing

Rio Hayward

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

I liked Justice League Dark. Not a favorite, but it had some great lines from Batman and some nice different creatures to fight. John Constantine is a DC Character who needs more time in the spotlight, because his magical powers are really cool. He pretty much steals the show, but his compagnons of Deadman, Zatanna and Swampthing should get that too. They could've used more screen-time. It was nice seeing a different enemy with dark magic. Even though I found the voice provided for Felix Faust annoying, he had some good fight scenes with Constantine and the crew. Not a personal favorite, but I liked Constantine, Batman and the magic and I'd prefer Justice League Dark over Justice League: War.

I've read a few bad review of this and I honestly don't get why anyone has a problem with this. All of the DC animated films are much truer to their comic counterparts (especially compared to the trash films i.e. Batman vs Superman tripe).I loved this and fully recommend it to everyone.Story: Fantastic, it deviates from the standard Superhero format and instead focus's on the magical aspect of the DC universe. A welcome change and very refreshing. *p.s. Swamp Thing... you make my heart sing :D*Characters: Good choice of characters, though from general knowledge Constantine is supposed to be a Batman fanboy... we didn't get to see any of that though the story makes sense.Voice Actors: Constantine is voiced by Matt Ryan... the actor that plays Constantine in the TV show of the same name which gives a nice continuity. Jason O'Mara voices batman, which again shows continuity as he has done in about 6 other DC Animated films. Overall pleased with the VA's.Animation: At times a touch cheesy, but overall what we've come to expect... good/ very good. This is nothing groundbreaking, but it is a very enjoyable watch. If you're a fan of the DC world and want a laugh, give this a shot. I was smiling through most of the film and very happy with pretty much everything. Batman was left "holding the purse" throughout, even more so than with the JL and stands on the sidelines upset at his lack of involvement going "huh" a lot... it was very amusing. Constantine's character is lovable in the douchey sort of way much in keeping with his comic character (while I love the stand alone Keanu Reeves Constantine, it deviated A lot from the actual character).Watch it and judge it for yourself, I however think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Im a DC animated film fanboy, and with the exception of Son of Batman (and maybe Bad Blood), I think they've all been pretty good.

Now you would kinda expect that all of the superheroes would team up together but instead there was only just around five of them that teamed up together. It was OK in a way, however, we can't forget the other superheroes throughout the years! It makes it feel like half of the justice league just want to be left alone and not bother joining Batman,John Constantine, Zatanna and Jason Blood. It is a pity that the writers left this out but, this is only just one complaint i have with the animated movie.I couldn't believe that an Irish actor like Jason O'Mara could pull off Batman, seriously like Kevin Conroy, he is one of the few that can pull off Batman really well. I suppose when Christian Bale was Batman during the haydays, he wasn't bad either, however he wasn't the greatest at doing the role tbh. I'm very impressed that an irishian like myself, pulled off a great accent and character like Batman! I thought this animated short movie was really good, for such a short group of 5, they did a good job in tackling the bad guys as per usual in any superhero movie!

I am not going to spend too much time on this big old mess, either by boring the readers of my review or inciting a riot--take your pick."JLD" is an ANIMATED story about people world-wide experiencing visions of ghoulies, and goblins, and long-legged beasties, and things that go bump in the night. So, natch, the Justice League decides to investigate.I did learn a few things I did not know about these "marvels": (a) demons get together and play cards. Enchanting. (b) there is actually such a thing as a "killer turd," and (c) Batman grunts quite a bit.I tried to watch this three times before giving up. Actually, it put me to sleep every time. The animation is awful. Each male character looks exactly the same, with the only difference being a different outfit. Same thing goes for the females. There is NO life to any of the characters. In fact, the cast of characters were as lifeless as they were drawn. This "thing" was rated "R"--why? I'll never know. Uninteresting (except for the rampage of the killer turd).
