I gave this film a 9 out of 10, because it was exactly what I expected it to be.

I watched the movie and continued to watch thinking that Fawad Khan would not have agreed to act in the movie if did not have substance. I have a lot of respect for his acting talent. I don't know why he would act for such a weak plot. Its an insult to his skill set and to the viewers' intelligence. The script did not do justice to Fawad's looks or his acting. Every incident between him and Sonam is forced. Except for the location where Sonam is found in the end, nothing in the movie is ingenious. After watching a few of Pakistani plays in which Fawad Khan played the lead role, this was an abysmal disappointment. How in the world did Disney agree to put their name on this movie!

What is wrong with this movie? Nothing particularly. Its light hearted. It has some good star cast, both Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan look great. Music is interesting and supports the story line. The storyline is clichéd but thats okay. But then ? The problem exists how the final product has been served. Over the top acting (Kirron Kher needs to take a break and focus on politics for all our sake), lackluster screenplay (I zoned out several times during the movie), unbelievable subplots, extensive stereotyping of Delhi/punjabi families and really really poor dialogues.Recommend avoiding it..

We went to watch it last night & had really good time. I don't understand the bad reviews about this film as it is way better than some of the over-rated bollywood flicks. I am from UK & enjoy watching foreign movies too & am used to reading the subtitles. It was a recommendation from a friend so we went together to the theatre & I was pleasantly surprised at how this movie managed to keep me entertained from start to finish.Fawad Khan I believe is a new actor as I can't remember seeing him in another movie before. Neither have I seen Sonam Kapoor in many films in the past. Definitely a quality new entry in the industry, keep up the good work.I emphasize on this again I really can't see why there are some negative reviews, probably they were in a bad mood or having a bad day I guess..... My suggestion is if you are thinking of watching it its better to watch it in the cinema as its such a magical fun ride with some good songs, well at least I enjoyed. Sonam Kapoor is a gorgeous young lady absolutely beautiful & I hope we will see her in more quality productions like this one. When I go to a theatre & come out in the end with a massive smile on my face that means I really had a good time & Khoobsurat made me do that.My rating a solid 9.5/10 Have Fun!

Its not completely hazardous to watch a formula-ridden flick if you arecomfortable in a cinematic space familiar to you.More than 3 decades back, veteran director Hrishikesh Mukherjee made the slice- of-life family caper with Rekha in the lead. That iconic film examined the inclusion of an independent-thinking girl in a matriarchal family,in alighter vein.Fast Forward to 2014 - Adman Shashank Ghosh replicates the premise in 'Khubsoorat' which marks the collaboration of Anil Kapoor productions with Disney Films. Its a case of old wine served in new bottle.Much like a fairy-tale adventure,Khubsoorat unfolds with the spontaneous and chirpy chatter-box Mili(Sonam Kapoor),a sports physiotherapist by profession with Sehwag,Dhoni in her client list, entering and breaking the strictures of a royal family.Though her job is to clinically treat the wheel-chaired king,Shekhar Rathod(Aamir Raza Hussain),she is an uninvited typhoon, inviting the rage of the disciplinarian matriarch,Nirmala Devi(Ratna Pathak, steps into her mom,Dina Pathak's shoes)but creates ripples in the heart of the starchy scion, Vikram(Fawad Khan).Shashank has an eye for details.A royal setting, laden with decorum, which forms a backdrop for the central defiance is aptly crafted and Tushar Ray's sumptuous visuals soothe the sparks that fly between the protagonists, who are exactly the opposites in their mannerisms.Shashank also gives a sensitive touch to the reason behind the deafening silence inhabiting the dysfunctional family. However, many of the sequences appear contrived due to a sloppy screenplay.A beaten-to-death treatment and predictable narrative stops us from being invested in the characters and their lives.Sneha Khanwalkar's peppy numbers and the interesting voice- overs doing the mind-talks between the aafat Mili and khadus 'Vicku' cheer up the mood.Quite expectedly, the film showcases Sonam's acting chops (again after'Aisha').The actress gives Mili the right degree of effervescence and eccentricity.Known for her fashionista credentials , her costumes are outlandish and yet she is picture-perfect.She is ably supported by a motley of accomplished actors - Its Kirron Kher ,playing Mili's noisy boisterous and outrageous Punjabi Mom, Manju, who keeps us thoroughly entertained. Her bouyant antics construct a perfect foil to the high-on-etiquettes, Ratna Pathak.Pakistani heart-throb Fawad Khan makes Vikram the cynosure of all eyes and is justifiably restrained.Sadly, all of them seldom get an opportunity to rise above the muddled script.Khubsoorat is a shaky ride.It will make you laugh, but an excess of candy floss also exasperates at the same time.Rating : 2.5/5
