the audience applauded
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
View MoreThe movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
View MoreIf you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
View MoreThe poor development of the plot requires frequent narration. The Red Reaper (Tara Cardinal) who is half human, half demon was sold into slavery to the demons by her mother (Eliza Swenson). She prattles on about prophecy and battle with the demons and protecting humans, but the early story is about her love for Eris (David Mackey) and the competition for his hand. The attempts at humor were pitiful. The writing was bad. The fighting choreography was ridiculous. Red is very "girly" in her moves and it is hard to imagine her as a fighter. There are flashbacks to torture. The demon scales on her back seem to be an issue. She has a recovery scene that was long and boring. Difficult to sit through.Favorite line: "Using my pants as a tourniquet was a good idea."Has some unintended cheese value. Not worth renting.Parental Guide: No f-bombs, sex, or nudity.
View MoreI wanted to like this film. I saw the reviews, but went into it anyway with an open mind. Now, I can usually find SOMETHING about a film to like. In this case, there is an okay concept buried in there somewhere deep. Bad acting and bad effects can be forgiven if there's some meat; some substance. But this film is just so painfully, dreadfully, boring and slow. Just when it feels like it's starting to wrap up, you realize there's still roughly 40 minutes left. By the time things "pick up" (in the loosest sense), most people will have already checked out. This movie is a paradox. It's like they tried so hard, yet not at all. When the credits roll, you find Uwe Boll's name listed immediately as one of the executive producers, and it somehow all finally comes together and starts to make sense in some sort of cosmic way. It's as if someone took what could have honestly been a decent 20 minute fantasy short film and extrapolated it to a 100 minute runtime - while doing absolutely nothing with that extra time AT ALL.I would only recommend this film to the friends and family of the people that made it. And I doubt they will be friends or family after viewing it.
View MoreI had a chance to watch this movie at Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo as I was waiting for another event and decided to kill some time and check out this indie film. All I can say is... for an event like Comikaze... What the heck were they thinking on letting this be shown at a respectable comic book convention of this magnitude?!?! Let's get down to business: The creator of this movie is very attractive, which probably what got her to be able to get the help she needed in order to do this movie. It gets even better, not only did she created this but directed, starred, apparently edited (which shows), as well as written this, a book and comic for it... My only response is, she should have focused at one thing at a time before trying to assume that she can bank on its "success". There is only so much brain power one can do at a time. The movie itself is very bad quality... as in like it's obvious that certain scenes are from different cameras and probably royalty free footage here and there to give that "grand" feel that we are in a giant world of forest. The transitions are just so forced and doesn't really ease or please the eyes as the movie progresses. The acting is flat bad and you cannot relate to the characters. The action is... meh. The only thing that was OK was the music. Overall 2/10.I am not against female leads or heroes and love indie films. But I found Lucy, Buffy, Xena and Underworld much more better and entertaining than this movie. Though I am not a girl, I can at least relate a bit to those female leads as well as having a little crush for them. This movie just fails... and after the event I decided to research more about Tara Cardinal and this movie and was glad to not be the only one who hated it. I am very surprised that Uwe Boll's name is attached as Executive Producer... I bet him and the other cast & crew are very embarrassed and ashamed for being a part of this so called "movie" and why it wasn't promoted by them. Tara seemed to have done all the work on promoting it as well as herself... attention craving much? Let's talk about her real quick: Apparently she has credits in acting. There are articles that interviewed her and all of them are all very similar... Tara thinks that by making us feel sorry for her will we be able to watch this movie and forgive its flaws as well as understand it better... Honestly, this made the opposite happen... Not only did it make me feel uncomfortable as a viewer, but it clearly shows how desperate she is on trying to become a celebrity...If you are going to do anything... focus on the positive, make yourself a better leader as well as crafting your art to be as near perfection as possible... Tara lacked all of these, which she quickly blamed on others (immature much?). All I can say is, if you are going to represent yourself and/ or a project... at least make sure it will not damage your reputation before showing it to everyone. If I were her, I would have scrapped this project and start everything from scratch. Better to take a loss than salvaging a doomed project to begin with.In conclusion, Don't waste your time. Don't waste your money. Don't judge a book by its cover. This movie is false advertising at its best. The creator herself may look pretty... but lacks true heart & soul of a real actor and/or film maker.
View MoreThis was in the top 10 DVD charts in Asda, I liked the look of the box art so bought it... It is truly the absolutely worst film I have ever seen. To put this into context, I managed to enjoy Starship Troopers 2.This has the most poorly constructed storyline, and script writing I have ever seen. The repeated use of of dramatic posing, replayed again and again the constant use of dream sequence segments used over and over. The audio which you can hear in a single dialogue being cut half way through, dubbed with a studio recording then back to the scene recording again.I feel thoroughly ripped off. It belongs in the 99p store - on a 2 for the price of one offer. The phrase "Watching paint dry" should be replaced with "Watching Red Reaper" because watching paint dry would be less tedious.Honestly, I think it was misleading for Asda to sell this in the "Entertainment" section, I might demand my money back.
