Better Late Then Never
Admirable film.
It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
View MoreI didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
View MoreLesbian Vampire Killers is surprisingly not as bad as expected, considering the title. There is no trick; it is clearly a film about lesbian vampire killers, but it uses English humour similar to the Inbetweeners to parody the horror tropes of vampire genre films. James Corden is the highlight with his apathetic attitude throughout, and his crazy childish desire for booze and breasts. It is a deliberately silly film, as to be expected, and in its silliness can on the occasion be fun and entertaining. It is nothing special, but for a title that naturally makes it an assumed boy's fest, it does not incite the need to gouge one's eyes out.
View MoreI like comedy horrors and I finally got around to seeing this film and found it very disappointing. The thing that spoiled it for me was Corden. There is far too much of him playing his usual one-dimensional character that he obviously has not developed and which he thinks is funny but isn't really. In fact, Corden's 'performance' could hardly be called 'acting' in any sense of the word - but that is hardly surprising from this talentless lump with a big mouth. There was far too much of him in this filmHopefully we won't be seeing his smarmy face in any other movies or on television ever again - but perhaps that is hoping for too much. The other actors were brilliant and really embraced the typically British comic element of the film.If you like Corden (goodness knows why) then you may like this film. otherwise it is definitely worth spending your time watching something else.
View MoreDon't get me wrong - I didn't go into this expecting Citizen Kane but as a fan of Hammer films and Matt Horne in The Catherine Tate Show and Gavin and Stacey, I expected more than this complete tripe. If you find "gags" about "bumming", "ponces" and "hot d+kes" amusing then you won't be disappointed. It's full of them. The film's really got nothing to commend it - if you don't like James Corden, this won't be the film to change your mind. He basically reprises his role as Smithy in Gavin and Stacey - right down to the robotic dancing. Matt Horne does slightly better with terrible material to work with and the less said about the vampires the better. They won't be getting into RADA based on these performances and accents. The script writers seem to be under the impression that sticking a swearword into a line of dialogue somehow makes it amusing. It doesn't.So, don't waste 80 minutes of your life!
View MoreI have been really looking forward to this movie after seeing the nice trailer back in 2009. But yet again, it turned out to be a big disappointment. While everything in this movie looked really cool, and the girls have been really sexy and beautiful, the script had nothing to offer. Bad story, bad characters, and an awfully silly humor. I think I had to smirk a single time in the movie after hearing the idea of gay were wolfs. Overall, the trailer has been more funny, than the movie itself. And I don't think that this can be said about any other movie. This is one of those movies, where the constant bad and silly jokes, destroy all atmosphere, all story, all tension, all interest in the characters - simply everything.
