Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Ganga, who heard the fairy tale and fairy tales from his grandmother, understands this story by Nagavalli. On the back, the sympathetic attitude of the Nagavilli becomes a kind of euphemisms. When Ganga gets transformed into Nagavalli's character, her husband Nakulan is the old and cruel reason for that. Mahadeva the neighbor also becomes Ramanathan. Sunny precisely identified the source of the attack, convinced Nagavalli to leave the Ganga body if he was allowed to kill the brutal Thampi. He plays Nakula as the old reason. At a critical point, Sagittarius positively puts a puppet for the Nakula and gives Nagavali the opportunity to kill her enemy. The Ornate Lock ('Manichitratazhu') was a film directed by the gifted director Mr. A M Fazil. Combining stellar acting by veteran actors - such as Mohanlal, Thilakan, Shobana; with a well written script which was perfectly executed; the movie easily became a runaway success and a definitive benchmark for psychological thriller films in the history of Indian (if not World) movies.Centering around the weird ways in which an unwell human mind can behave , especially when under the power of suggestion; the role of Ganga proved to be turning point in the life of the actress Shobana. Similarly, evoking subtle mannerisms of a trained parapsychologist; Mohanlal was able to easily bring to awe even his dire critics.Though remakes of this film were attempted and done in many other languages, sadly, none were able to create the impact that this movie had made in the mind of movie goers.

Hi friends,This is an all-time classic.A well made movie given attention to every single detail. The direction and storyline are excellent. But the highlight is the acting of Mohanlal and Shobhana.Very contrasting characters. They have made these characters immortal. All the people who see this movie will understand what great actors Mohanlal and Shobhana are.Seen this movie about 20 times and still enjoys the movie.Friends,if you are a Keralite, you certainly would have seen this movie by now.Others, please,if you love good movies and if u haven't seen this movie by now,try 2 get this movie somehow, with subtitles if u don't understand MalayalamAnd there is another thing i have to tell.it's to those stupid people who r trying 2 remake this movie. They have made2 attempts by now.I have seen one,Chandramukhi in Tamil by Rajnikanth. And it was utter bullshit.I have given a rating of 10 for this movie. Then, that for it's Tamil remake would be about 0.
