Sadly Over-hyped
Absolutely Fantastic
This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
View MoreAlthough I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

View MoreWhen it was announced the "King of Pop" was dead at age 50, a month before he was to start a series of live comeback shows at London's O2 Arena, it was a huge shock to millions of people around the world. He was, and will forever be one of the most talented voices and dancers in the music industry, and he will be missed terribly. I decided to remind myself how wonderful he was by watching what is considered by many to be not only Jackson's best video (and possibly song), but the greatest music video ever made, from director John Landis (An American Werewolf in London). The film opens with Michael and his Girl (Ola Ray) having their car breakdown, and after giving her a ring, the moon comes out and he turns into a werewolf. We then see Michael and his Girl watching this horror film in the cinema, she is scared and walks out, and Michael soon follows her, singing the iconic song. Soon enough the voice of Vincent Price comes on, and zombies start crawling out the earth and open coffins from the graveyard, and Michael and the Girl are obviously surrounded. She turns away, and Michael has become a zombie himself, and with all the other creatures they do the iconic dance, before he turns back into his normal self, at least for the chorus. The Girl runs into the near creepy house, blocks the doorway, but zombie Michael still manages to break through, and when he touches her she screams to see normal Michael say "what's the problem?" The film ends with him taking her home, and looking at us with evil eyes. Michael Jackson was number 14 on The 100 Greatest Pop Culture Icons, and he was number 6 on The Ultimate Pop Star, the Thriller album was number 4 on The 100 Greatest Albums, and this video was number 71 on The 100 Greatest Scary Moments, and it was number 1 on The 100 Greatest Pop Videos. Very good!
View MoreThis video/short film remains on many lists as one of, if not the greatest music video of all time and it is easy to see why. This is The King of Pop at the height of his powers before his eccentricities really took over as they have seemed to in recent years.A cohesive storyline mixes with the music and the dance as well as a vocal cameo by horror master Vincent Price creating a story like none since. It does have its weaknesses, particularly the now dated special effects and I have always found Ola Ray's "scream queen" performance as Micheal's girlfriend more than a little annoying. But its strengths far outweigh any weaknesses and they can be put into the same category as the classic "camp" horror flicks that the video seems to be a tribute to.Bravo Mike, and I hope you find your way back to a similar place to this once again.
View MoreBefore I had saw the Thriller video in 2001, my family and friends all tried to explain what happens in it. I put all the bits together and came up with this storyline. Tell me what you think. The camera comes down on Michael and his date coming out of the cinema and they start to walk to his house while singing Thriller. After finishing the verses they come to a graveyard and Michael suggests that they go in. While walking around Ola notices that she's been abandoned. She goes off looking for Michael. She see's his footprints heading into a nearby forest so she follows them. She hears him groaning and finds him in a clear patch in the grass. She asks him if he's alright and He turns around with the yellow eyes and warns her to get away from him. After a full transformation into a werewolf he chases her back into the graveyard and zombies have started to rise from their grave. After being cornered by Michael and the zombies they start to dance and sing the chorus to Thriller. After that she runs into Michael's house to seek shelter but Were-Panther Michael and the zombies follow her in. She goes in and stabs Michael with a silver knife and he turns to normal. as the sun comes back out the zombies turn to go back to their grave. Then Ola wakes up and realises that it's still night-time and that they've arrived home from the cinema. Then Michael says she can stay at his place for the night and goes to shut the curtains and as he does he stops. The camera shows a full moon and cuts to Michael's face at the window with the yellow eyes and the teeth and the camera gradually zooms closer to the window Obviously not what happens but might have been good to see. I know I was more scared of my family's version of the tale. but the one thing that haunts me every day and night is those yellow cats eyes both at the beginning and the end.
