This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

The movie is good.Copied from The chaser it's nice. The first part was copied from unfaithful and this one from chaser. The acting by Emraan Hasmi was nice as a gangster and an ex cop.Its a dark intense and a lit scary film.A lit bit better than its first part. The acting from Prashant Narayan was awesome. The way he acted like a psycho was good.Nice direction by Mohit as expected. The story is good. The tension was good and the last killing was intense.Editing was good Songs were nice. The ending was very sad and emotional.I love this kinda serial killer movies A must watch film for those who loves psychological thriller movies.

Bhatts have known for remaking Hollywood films, This film was their first sequel, A quasi sequel of Murder(which was a remake of Unfaithful). The film has nothing to do with Murder part I, It just takes the brand forward. The film is a remake of THE CHASER(2008) A South Korean film(almost entirely). However Bhatts have to use their formula too, so we have a forced romance angle of Jacqueline Fernandez which was not in the original. There is also an atheist angle which was not in the original which started straight to the point, barring the eununch part most of the film is otherwise the same. Mohit Suri also borrows from SADAK(1991) and Silence of the Lambs(which was remade as Sangharsh). The film is decent to watch, though it's mostly copypasted, however the problem is the forced romance acts as a stumbling block, also the writers add some more aspects which were missing from original like give the girl Sulagna a poor background and also have a change of heart for the lead.Direction by Mohit Suri is good Music is good, Haal E Dil, Phir Mohabbat all were hit though their placement is an issueEmraan Hashmi with longlocks plays his part well, though he played such characters earlier and it's nothing new for him. Prashant Narayanan is simply outstanding, he plays the character so perfectly, very sad to see him not getting his due and signing craps Jacqueline Fernandez with a dubbed voice fits as the Bhatt heroine and surprisingly lacks meat to in her role unlike in some Bhatt films which had good roles for heroines. Sulagna is superb in her role, she gets more scope then Jacqueline and gives it her all, Sudhanshu Pandey is good, rest are all okay

The Silence Of The Lambs & The Chaser juxtaposed together with a hot, useless actress and a serial kisser. And you get Murder 2.I don;t why Wikipedia says it is a quasi-sequel to the 2004 film Murder. But, as in this film, the plot is too cheesy and copied from both of the aforementioned hit films. Emraan Hashmi is lukewarm while the vindictive villain does a very good job. Jacqueline is a waste and no pivotal role to play.Overall, performances were appreciative and the songs were very good. Direction is average and cinematography is poor. Lots of plot holes and goofs here and there makes this one watchable, NOT!BOTTOM LINE: It is yet another Bhatt gimmick and there's no entertainment in this. Only gore & stupidity. Can be watched with a typical Indian family? NOLanguage: Critical | Sex: Critical | Nudity: Critical | Mouth-Kiss & Foreplay: Very Critical | Smoking, Alcohol or Drugs: No | Violence: Critical | Gore: Very Critical

For starters, the makers are simply cashing on the success of the title as the current outing has no connections, resemblance or relevance to "Murder" thereby grossly misleading. Yes, had it been "Awarapan 2" it would have been a near apt title as guilt and redemption form the major crux in the plot. The plot kicks off on an interesting note - a la "Buffalo Bill" from "Silence of the lambs". Sadly the suspense wears thin in the first 30- minutes as the cat and mouse chase is cut shot and the serial killer is nabbed. From this point onwards the narrative goes awry and haywire. And if "Murder 2" is a blatant copy of "The Chaser" then brains have not been put to use to plagiarise it properly. The sub-plots namely the romantic track, former police office and a few more, actually butt in at unexpected intervals and hamper the flow of the movie, bearing in mind they hardly contribute to the main plot. Needless to say some serious writing was warranted.Emraan Hashmi is as usual getting better with each passing movie and now has safely reached a stage where he can be termed as dependable. Jacqueline Fernandes steps into Bhatt's camp and attempts some serious makeover with hopes of kick starting her career (read that as inspired by Mallika Sherawat). Sadly there is hardly meat in the role. Prashant Narayanan was the sole reason I watched this movie with expectations. He has given his 100%, but owing to flaws on the writing front, it fails to alleviate the character which is a cross between Ashutosh Rana (Sangharsh) and Sadashiv Amrapurkar (Sadak). Interestingly Sulagna Panigrahi manages to negotiate a better screen time than Jacqueline Fernandes and in fact leaves a stronger impact. Sudhanshu Pandey was okay'ish. Songs as usual from Bhatt's camp are melodious and music to ears. Background score deserves a special mention which translates into eerie and spine-chilling moments. The original "Murder" actually worked because of Anurag Basu who held the directorial reigns. Clearly Mohit Suri has a long way to go before he can play catch-up.
