I love this movie so much
Really Surprised!
I was totally surprised at how great this film. You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.
View MoreAll of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
View More(Contains spoilers) this film could have been so good. The plot was unusual, the family dynamics were unusual and it strayed away from some of the more common horror tropes, what let it down was demonstration of poor.... Poor dialogue/script, poor acting from all (except the police officer), poor camera work and editing, poor plot exposition, poor special effects, poor ending! I had such high hopes when the film started, I liked the fact that it was a mother and her 3 daughters, but I soon became annoyed by the random shots of the actors faces or eyes that lacked continuity with the scene and the really stilted acting. It did remind me of a 1970s film and it really shouldn't have. I recognise low budget but that may excuse the level of special fx but not the acting or the direction, this is such a shame because this could have been a really good film, it didn't need gore or graphic horror just better technical application and a better script, and as some others have pointed out less ridiculous plot devices... Driving despite tornado warnings, a handy nail gun, escaping only to find you left that frying pan for the fire. I gave it a 4 because I've seen worse, and maybe if there was a sequel it would be better! That being said, one would assume that the dad would just need to show the authorities the text messages he received and that coupled with the fact his daughters are missing would bring a shed load of crap on Wellsville....
View MoreTransparancy: I'm local to where this film was shot and I met the director/writer at a local horror con. We hit it off so I picked this up at Redbox to check it out.I really did enjoy this film. It had a lot of charm and the majority of the cast put in solid performances. Some of the more emotional scenes were a little flat which took me out of the trance these movies usually put me in.Effects, pretty good! The few digital shots were pretty convincing!editing - some of the scenes run a little long. they tend to drift when they should be cut. Doing a bit of editing myself I know what it's like to be in love with a shot and to want it to play out. But I think it hurts overall pacing. Some of the ADR was not mixed too well. In the car in particular the dialog was mixed way to high over the ambient car noise. Not a big deal, but again it took me out of the scene. The movie had some humor in it but I think pacing of the editing didn't allow for the right timing. Some called this movie predictable, I didn't think so. I was still surprised at some of the plot twists and generally had a good time watching it with my family.Unlike some of the other assholes on here I just wanted to offer some constructive criticism.I look forward to seeing more of your projects.
View MoreThis film wasn't bad, but wasn't that good, either. Just average. On a story level, it was pretty good. It slowly drew me in, built suspense, and led up to an interesting idea. The problems were on a more technical level. The female leads often muttered their lines, making me have to turn up the volume and strain my ears to understand their dialog. Two of the villainous characters were played stiffly, with almost no personality. The film was limited in what it showed in gore, action and special effects, probably because of a limited budget. I wanted to like this film (I did enjoy parts of it), but for me its flaws marginally outweighed its strengths.
View MoreWow. There's bad acting........and then there's this...I read another review where they said "really well acted" It's not possible that we're watching the same movie. In all honesty, this is, hands down, the worst attempt at film making I have ever had the extreme displeasure of suffering through. At the 38-minute mark I turned off my TV......I've never done that before.....that should tell you just how horrendous this movie is. On the bright side? Well, I now have a benchmark from which all really, really bad movies can be compared. I am wondering if this was the Director's first attempt? And the cast, writers and producers' first venture into cinema? If so, they get a mulligan.........if not, then they need to make it their last venture into cinema.
