Top student Jane Ryan heads to Manhattan for a college-scholarship competition. Her rebellious twin Roxy Ryan goes along to crash a video shoot. It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

New York Minute (2004): Dir: Dennie Gordon / Cast: Ashley Olsen, Mary-Kate Olsen, Eugene Levy, Andy Ritcher, Jared Padalecki: Lame comedy about lost time and reflection upon lack of communication. It is a star vehicle for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and even worse than their previous outing, It Takes Two. One wrote a speech that could get her into Oxford university while the other wants to attend a Simple Plan concert but is pursued by a truant officer for schemes she pulled at school. Central plot regards a micro chip that is planted on them and a dog that eats it and the hours spent encouraging it to take a dump. Director Dennie Gordon loses focus quickly and creates a film that is the female equivalent to his pathetic The Adventures of Joe Dirt. It plays like a bad music video with numerous stupid encounters including a guy who talks Japanese even though he isn't. Both Olsens are reciting material that doesn't make them look as cute as the producers would like. Eugene Levy overplays the truant officer. Andy Ritcher plays the flat male lead who is one of those guys who will date someone without knowing any background or seeking it out. Jared Padalecki plays a moron bad boy with the personality of a paper bag. This film should be tossed down a New York sewer for being a pitiful showcase that likely took Gordon a New York minute to come up with. Score: 1 / 10

You have watched them grow up on the screen, and with each movie, their acting improves (at least in this critics opinion).New York Minute is a fun story filled with romance, mystery, action, and of course, comedy. It is fun and family friendly. While not all of the acting is the best, you can't put this in the low quality film category, although, it doesn't belong at the top either. The Olsen Twins have learned that you can make a good fun movie, and keep it clean, this is a must see for any family. With all of these points in mind I give "New York Minute" 8 out of 10 for being fun, light- hearted, and family friendly.

Ignore all those comments where they totally talk bad about the olsens because they're all lies! Sure, this movie isn't something that would earn a huge award but it's still a wonderful movie for "tweens" and young girls. I, myself am a tween and i absolutely loved it! It's got semi-action, some humour and heartfelt moments! OK so here's a short summary about the movie: Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen playing Jane and Roxanne Ryan. One very sophisticated and smart while the other is the rock type. (the complete opposite of Jane). They end up in a huge chase with Lomax(Eugune Levy) and this psycho dude who thinks he's Chinese.(which he's NOT!)If you're an Olsen fan, you'll love it! so go for it!

oh my god ! i luff this film ! its sick ! *laugh*. i think if anyone doesn't like this film then they suck. Mary Kate and Ashley rock ! to the person that was complaining about mean girls should shut up because thats films sick too ! kids learn about that stuff at school anyway so whats the point in hiding it from them ? and kids want to get away from their families early mainly because they don't like them that much in the first place, so what does that tell you. i don't meant to sound harsh or anything, but maybe you should think before saying tight stuff about things. anyway this film is great ! i luff Mary-Kate and Ashley !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and this film ! whoopee. *laugh*. peace out xx
