In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
View MoreThis film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
View MoreEasily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
View MoreClose shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
View MoreI'm not sure if it is a saying or if I'll be quoting it correctly if it is, but here goes: some of its parts are better than the sum of its parts! So I actually liked a couple of the sketches, but as a whole there were a bit too many moments that just didn't work. The humor generally speaking is just silly, so if you don't like that, you may as well stay away generally. The movie has a sick humor, which also may also work in its favor while you watch it or against it. It doesn't take any prisoners and Boll does make fun of himself. n the other hand sometimes you can't tell how much truth there is behind the jokes. Like when he repeats that some drivers of a specific nationality have to be shot on both his audio commentaries (entertaining to listen to, to a degree by the way), you do wonder where the joke ends and the his true nature/feelings start. He surely is one who likes to provoke (which is why the audio commentaries are always a hoot to listen to, if you are not too easily offended and have a general hate regarding his personality) ...
View MoreI was extremely turned off from the movie at first mainly due to people calling a "terrible movie" and "The worst movie I've ever seen" on multiple occasions. Well after getting up the gumption to view this movie i was absolutely shocked by how much i loved it and how much it felt like something that almost belonged in the postal game series. All i really have to say is that if you like witty black humor or are a fan of the postal game series you will probably adore this film. Only problem with the experience was the occasional joke about video games which seem like an out of place forced way to reference the games.Overall i still give this film a ten out of ten
View MoreI've neither had the patience or the wish to watch Uwe Boll's movies. I might have played video games without enough enthusiasm to appreciate his efforts.Postal was an exception. The plot was half-way important, it had numerous details that made me laugh, so let's name a few...The first was Uwe Boll himself in an episode portraying a German-American community. Every possible prejudice about Germans has been pulled out, but coming from the director of the movie himself, it gave it a completely new dimension. The second is the claim that Osama Bin Laden had a direct contact with George W. Bush. Moreover, they talk during one of GW's golf rounds.Postal stay a trash-comedy all the way although produced as an above-average TV movie. It is full of exaggeration that plays on urban legends, conspiracy theories and the perception of modern media. Precisely that made it a good comedy.
View MoreIt's like the fifth or sixth time I watch this movie, and every time I discover something new going on the background. And every time I watch it I certainly wonder how this movie can be rated following what seems to be the "Uwe Boll standard".I don't know anything about the rest of his movies; that game-to-film adaptation thing is definitely not my cup of tea. A film adaptation of "Street Fighter"?... come on, how can you be disappointed, what the f--- did you expect? Fortunately, I didn't know Postal was a video game. Its opening scene is a really good presentation card. The movie is brilliant. It's not on the artsy side of movie-making, sure, but it's really fun and clever. In fact, I think it's the only actually clever movie regarding all what came in the aftermath of the 9/11 events. No dramatization, no misplaced patriotism, just a witty look on all that came after: the media circus, the religious fanaticism, the shadows over the Bush administration... come on, he even pokes fun on the, let's say, "German legacy".So no, Uwe Boll may be the worst whatever in the world but this movie is not the usual trash, is not the usual Hollywood trash and definitely is no trash at all.Jihad!!
