good back-story, and good acting
Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
View MoreFun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
View MoreEach character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
View MoreSo,I recently just found out that R.E.C has been adapted in to a American horror film starring Jay Hernandez and Jennifer Carpenter called "Quarantine",I knew that there was a film called Quarantine but I didn't know it was a American adaption of one of the scariest horror films ever. So,as we all know, this film follows Angela, played by Jennifer Carpenter, who goes along with a group of firefighters after a woman called about an attack in her apartment building only to discover a virus is spreading all over the building. So,when I even heard that John Eric Dowdle was directing it who directed brilliant horror films such as As Above So Below and The Poughkeepsie Tapes,I got so excited and I found it in Poundland for only £2 so I got it and just this morning,I watched it. Basically,Quarantine is the exact same as R.E.C,Jennifer Carpenter is the exact same as the Spanish actress who played her character in the Spanish version. The ending to the film was also highly insidiously brilliant, just like its prequel,I will not spoil but Doug Jones was awesome in the end of the film. Jay Hernandez was also very good in the film but sorry,Rec was better, except for the fact that it had subtitles, which I don't like sometimes,so,this was great!! Quarantine is a very good horror film
View MoreQuarantine was a terrifying roller-coaster ride: there were so many jumpscares moments, it was a surprise that my racing heart hadn't recovered from all the banging against my ribcage. I applaud Jennifer Carpenter's performance: she was convincing, and she has proved to be a candidate for a Scream Queen. I feel like she was never off-key.I actually watched Quarantine before I watched the original Spanish REC. And though I enjoyed Quarantine, REC was superior; it seemed more authentic. But as I said: Quarantine was a terrifying roller-coaster ride, just like REC, and I would say it is worth a watch, and, perhaps, a rewatch.
View MoreEnter Quarantine, which shares the same name as an emerging style of genre – people become infected, and they are isolated from the rest of society. In the isolated sandbox the infected ravage each other and take out and/or infect any other survivors along the way. However, sometimes a movie comes along that breaks the trend; this is one such movie. The movie starts out as a reporter doing a journalist report surrounding the action at the fire department. The beginning is so misleading – it had me forgetting that this was a horror movie; it isn't until they are in an apartment and odd things start to happen between the residents that the movie reveals itself. The local government of the outside world isolates the building and misleads everyone into thinking all survivors have been evacuated. The movie has high tension as each character is picked off one by one; however, the characters are able bodied and are not afraid to attack the infected if they get too close. The movie also has a few shocking surprises that are completely unexpected. This movie is a recovered footage film in disguise; but it won't reveal this facet until much later. I highly recommend this movie.
View MoreCub TV reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman Scott Percival (Steve Harris) follow a group of firefighters for the night. Jake (Jay Hernandez) and George Fletcher (Johnathon Schaech) take them on a tour of the fire house. They are called to help an old lady. She attacks the cops and all hell breaks loose. The doors are locked and the apartment building is quarantined. This is the American remake of REC. It has the 1st person POV of Percival recording everything on his camera. It works for the first half or so but I struggle with it more and more. There are two things about the camera work that always annoy me with this type of work. The fact that the camera always catches the action is a big concession. The other problem is the shaky cam. This is more problematic than most because Percival is suppose to be a professional. The camera work in this one actually annoyed me. The acting is fine but there is slightly too much screaming and arguing.
