This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

This film is total MAGA. We lvoed it. We insert it into the video player and watch it every month since Nicole baby and me got together. I bet if premeier Ford came and watched it with us he would love it too

This movie is a great movie. It showed you how no matter what, work hard and believe in yourself. it also showed that sometimes in life you need the good corner man push you towards your greatness. There is so many different scenarios you can find in this movie. Another one is having a great woman by your side. A lot of great men had a good loyal woman by their side. I think everyone can get something from this movie.

It started as a great movie. I was interested in this guy trying to achieve his dreams. But then the scene in his apartment where he cornered his best friend's sister, his romantic interest, forced me to turn it off. When he kept bugging her at her workplace, I started to get red flags but I wasn't sure about his motives. I'm not sure if the apartment scene was intended to be romantic but the lady clearly didn't consent and Rocky kept pushing.

I saw this film again recently, maybe for the first time in forty years, since it was released back in the seventies, and was happy to see that it has lost none of its power. Stallone's performance shocked me because I had come to think of him early on as a ham bone, an actor of little talent who would spend his career playing thugs, and street toughs, and bad guys like Machine gun Joe Viterbo. And then, out of nowhere, comes this masterpiece, and the role of a lifetime. How wrong I was, how wrong we all were, about him. The film, written by Stallone, is a metaphor for his own career, and the fear of being typecast, and relegated to walk ons and minor roles He proved in the most impressive way that he wasn't "just another bum from the neighborhood", but one of the most talented guys on the block. Stallone put himself into this film body and soul, and the power of his performance is something to see. The supporting cast, especially Burgess Meredith in one of his best roles, are all excellent. A must see film, and a true classic that has stood the test of time. A Cinderella story in which art imitates life.
