This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

I didn't give it 10 stars because it wasn't a good movie. I gave it 10 because it was hilarious of how bad it is. guts coming out of a guys belly is just ground beef.a pole going through a guy and coming out crooked the other way, a girl acting like shes getting punched by the killer and his fist was 3 feet away, choking a guy in 3 secs, going from night to early morning to night to early morning in the same scenes. also side scenes causing criminal mischief i recommend you rent it for comedy reasons. Funny funny funny i'm just typing to clear up the good lines, i also recommend dead and rotting and screaming dead for this kind of humor

So me and my friend are carousing our local movie rental store and are looking for something to pick up to go along with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, so why not pick up the third installment in the Scarecrow series!?! Keep in mind that this is not just Scarecrow Three; this is, Scarecrow: Gone Wild. Now both of us had seen to the first two Scarecrows so we felt obligated to finish the job. Let's start with the cover of the DVD first. First we notice a picture of Ken Shamrock ("The World's Most Dangerous Man") on the cover. Apparently he was used to market the movie as the "lead actor". By the way, he has the least screen time of any member of the credited class. Next we notice a picture of a very attractive and very scantily clad woman in the middle ground of the cover. I can assure you that she is not in the movie....at all. At the time of rental we assumed that this was to reiterate the fact that the scarecrow was "going wild". In the background we noticed a large carnival on an island out in the ocean. I can also assure you that the carnival is also not in the movie...at all. Looking back me and my friend should have known something was up. I mean really, who the heck puts a carnival on an island. Now on to the actual movie. We start when a young man is inexplicably fused to a scarecrow in the middle of a corn field. Don't ask me how they were fused but think of when Brandon Lee waking up from the dead in The Crow. It's just that stupid. But in the scarecrow's defense, he has "gone wild". Anyhoo, the scarecrow, who now lives vicariously through the young man, takes a trip to his local beach to brutalize those who had done him wrong. Because yes, in the world of The Scarecrow, beaches are conveniently located in the same general vicinity as cornfields. To make a long story short the scarecrow kills all who stand in his path without any warning except for the scarecrow's trademark whistle that signals a slashing. This is however rather impossible to believe because the scarecrow's costume's mouth is clearly sewn shut. Several tracking shots that would make Kubrick roll over in his grave later, and we have one of the worst third installments in a series ever. Well except for maybe the third Matrix. As Joel Siegel would say, "This Scarecrow is wildly bad."

"Scarecrow Gone Wild" is an okay if unspectacular killer scarecrow film.**SPOILERS**Mike, (David Zelina) and his baseball teammates decide to change traditional and move their hazing ritual from a corn-fields to a beach. Jack, (Matthew Linhardt) the team captain and his girlfriend Beth, (Samantha Aisling) decide against the ritual, and when one of the stunts goes wrong, one of the guys is seriously injured. Jack and Beth are forced to come out to help, with the rest of the team partying on the beach unaware. When they start going missing, a local legend about a scarecrow is blamed. Thinking it to be nothing more than just a legend, they laugh it off until the scarecrow does come for them.The Good News: This is the third film in a trilogy that hardly anyone knew existed, and as such, it isn't all that terrible. The amount of cheese on display is quite large, and it ranks as one of the cheesiest movies made. A killer scarecrow stalking a group of college students on a secluded beach is the quintessential cheese plot, and this film delivers it in spades. There is really no end to it on display here, and it would take forever to analyze the ingredients involved in the film that makes it cheesy. Besides that, there were a few things of note in it. The film, ever now and then, was actually pretty suspenseful. The fact that every time the creature was about to attack he unleashed a creepy whistling tune gave some chills once it was established. It didn't help that the whistle was creepy to begin with. It's got a really unnerving quality to it. The sequences at the end at the hospital are also pretty creepy. It had a hint of the Gothic in the long hallway, the flashing lights, and the slow walk down the hallway bu a character dressed in white. It's a minor touch that really works well. There is a pretty big body count for a film of it's kind, and we get some okay deaths. The best scene is the death with the tent pole, as it comes across as a scene to watch, and the payoff is quite good.The Bad News: The amount of cheese on display is quite large, and it ranks as one of the cheesiest movies made. It's an either/or situation: either you like it because of the cheese or not. It's also a film where you have to suspend a giant amount of disbelief to believe in the story that it could almost be said that it's nearly impossible to do so. Plot holes are very frequent, so it's a frustrating watch if you can spot them easily. Some of the deaths are just so beyond badly realized that it could border on the frustrating if that turns you off. Only one death is realized in semi-realistic fashion, and it ranges from the oh-so-obvious to the it-wouldn't-look-like-that-in-real-life reactions, and it's not the kind of responses in a horror film, despite the cheesiness in this one.The Final Verdict: While it's not the worst killer scarecrow film, it's not the best one either. It's got it's moments, but yet there are times when it could've been something more. See it if you like cheap, B-grade horror films, but if you don't enjoy those kinds of films, then start somewhere else.Rated R: Graphic Language, Violence, Nudity and some drug use

Scarecrow Gone Wild does not belong to the "Scarecrow" horror franchise, which started with Emmanuel Itier's film and continued with "Scarecrow Slayer". That said, Scarecrow Gone Wild is very much in the same vein as those films and will appeal to "Scarecrow" fans.The biggest difference between this film and the other scarecrow movies is in its approach to the genre. The original "Scarecrow" was a dark, supernatural revenge film, while the sequel blended in a broader spectrum of victims but still remained true to the revenge philosophy. Scarecrow Gone Wild, on the other hand, follows a standard slasher film framework and is much closer to mainstream horror, with the requisite jolts, comedic quips and surprise moments. I'm not a big fan of most comedy/horror films but Scarecrow Gone Wild is made with such Z-movie spirit that I found it difficult to resist.This interpretation of the story involves Sam being tied to the scarecrow during a hazing ritual. Unfortunately, Sam has diabetes and goes into insulin shock. In his comatose state, Sam's spirit merges with the Scarecrow and he promptly begins to slice and dice everyone in sight. The action comes thick and fast, with a series of increasingly unrealistic murders. This film uses every cheesy horror cliché in the book and yet that somehow just adds to its appeal. The humour generally misses the mark, but there are sufficient vaguely amusing scenarios and unintentionally funny moments to make the interludes between killings bearable.The film benefits greatly from an enthusiastic cameo performance from the 'world's most dangerous man' himself, UFC wrestler Ken Shamrock. His hammy performance as the coach was the bad acting highlight for me, particularly during his beach side duel with the scarecrow. The main actors were competent, particularly Matthew Linhardt as Jack and David Zelina, who impresses as Mike. The special effects are reasonable but less impressive than the other "Scarecrow" films. I don't expect much from such a low budget movie but Scarecrow Gone Wild often takes the easy way out by having the murders take place off screen.Scarecrow Gone Wild is stupid fun. The film never pretends to be anything other than trashy, low budget horror and for that I am thankful. I have my fingers crossed that the dumbest character in horror history will grace video stores with yet another ridiculous adventure in the not too distant future.
