I was totally surprised at how great this film.You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.

I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

Five people heist the Camp Pendleton payroll, kidnap a pilot and his daughter, who are forced to fly them to Mexico. Enroute a double cross has one of the thieves parachute with the loot into an abandoned graveyard surrounded by strange scarecrows. Two of the team jump after their loot and their former partner. Everything happens during the course of one very dark night.Interesting premise for a horror film and it's well done. Very surprising that the director only mad a tiny handful of films. It's excellently made and acted and the script is pretty different. Wonder why he dropped out.

I was quite surprised by how much I liked this film. Generally I am not much of a fan of these sort of characters. I would have preferred if they were college kids or something. Not because of any nudity stuff but because I have seen quite a few movies with these type of characters (for eg.Predator). Btw these are robbers dressed in military fatigues.I did think maybe there was some overuse of music for a film like this. But the movie in general has none of the 80s cheesiness. It all seems fairly competent work unlike the dozens of crappy low budget crap in the 80s. The acting is pretty good too. I loved the female character, quite surprised to see she has only 1 acting credit.Great atmosphere throughout.I loved it, 8/10

Everything happens during the course of one night.....If you yearn for Army versus Scarecrows, you've got the movie you wished for. Everybody else, this is a mundane excuse for a horror film, and probably one of the first instances where gore favours the scares.To be honest the film is really pants and nothing happens. Every five or ten minutes we are treated to a decent shot of a scarecrow, and someone gets killed or stuffed. Repeat this for eighty minutes and you have a bad, boring, bland film, with only a dog with cataracts as the redeeming part of the film.

Greetings from Lithuania.I remember i watched "Scarecrows" when i was 10 years old on TV, and it scared the hell out of my. 16 years later, i decided to re-watch this movie, and you know what - it's a really scary stuff, if go along with it.Now there isn't any special effects, just some make up, and it has a lot of campy and cheese shots (like the whole beginning on a plane), but later, it becomes somehow intriguing. It has good atmosphere (scary i mean) and it's a really nice stuff for a lonely cold and dark evening, it will definitely give you some chills. Don't expect much, you could by surprised by this movie. "Hey Curry, how are we going to live in Mexico, if we're dead?!" - this has to be one of the greatest lines in a history of screenplays :)
