Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

This straight to video film when I was young was quite good because it went back to the original style of Scooby-Doo the TV series. The only thing that could put it down a bit was the songs. Scooby and the gang get lost and end up in a desert village outside a alien spotting station. Aliens are starting to appear and the gang decide to investigate. During the process Scooby and Shaggy fall in love with Crystal and Amber (a golden retriever). In the end (suprise, surprise) they find out the aliens are three people at the alien spotting station secretly digging for gold. They also find out there are real aliens, Crystal and Amber! Scooby-Doo was number 8 on The 100 Greatest Kids' TV Shows, and he was number 49 on The 100 Greatest Cartoons. Worth a look!

Not as good as "Zombie Island" and "Cyber Chase" but still a great Scooby-Doo movie. The title of this movie pretty much sums it all up. However, what's great about this movie is the new "side" of Shaggy we get to see! Scooby-Doo has been in love before but never Shaggy, as here he falls for a "hippie" called Crystal. And he begins dreaming about the "free love." lol!3 1/2(***1/2)out of 4(****)stars

The mystery may be a little weaker than in previous Scooby movies but this is still well worth your time and showcases the huge potential in the revamped Scooby franchise. The Mystery Inc. gang break down in the desert (déjà vu?) and have to stay the night in a nearby town where the locals rant about aliens kidnapping cattle. So obviously they are up for investigation.I still don't like those stupid sound effects that are STILL (!!!!!!) used when Scooby or Shaggy BEGIN to run away. You know what I'm talking about. It sounds like someone rattling a quarter around in a tin can. It's pretty lame, considering all the thought and effort that has went into updating the franchise, that these old-fashioned and cruddy sound effects are being used in this day and age.But that aside there is a lot of fun to be had as Shaggy falls in love (his song is way cool), is kidnapped by the aliens along with Scooby and the gang suspecting a rather unfriendly mechanic. Scooby Doo is going places (even further if they do away with those sound effects) and next time the writers should focus more on plot and mystery as this one was wrapped up in a disappointingly short 74 minutes. The movies that followed progressively got weaker and weaker.

I could not have been more pleased with the new Scooby Doo film and yet so disappointed at the same time. The film's producer Davis Doi made a wonderful decision to stick with traditional Scooby Doo plot lines and character set up. This was a big plus in the films favour. I however found it difficult to accept the spiced up 90's graphics and the radical voice changes. Don't get me wrong, the film is still spectacular, but it must be watched with an open mind. Watch for a classic seen when Scooby imitates a vicious rattlesnake.
