The greatest movie ever made..!

It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

My daughter and I were in Chicago by chance during a film festival. We had time for only one film and we chose Serial Lover based on the time it was playing. We felt so lucky to have seen it ... and the showing we were at included a Q & A with James Huth which took place following the film. What a delight. One of the most satisfying film events I have ever attended. It has been several years but I do recall the almost futuristic, sharp, hip mood. The scenes are often dark with points of bright neon color. Sharp contrast of dark and light from one setting to the next adds to the sense of surprise and delight. The contrast in dark and light is analogous to the contrasts between the suitors, and to the unresolved situation. The characters move between the dreamlike almost murky areas to the shocking, bright kitchen, they move between confusion and clarity of purpose. My daughter and I still talk about this movie years later ... and we will talk about it for years to come. This film was a part of our bonding and meshing as adults rather than child to adult. The subversive, strange, wonderful film suited our personalities to a "T" This film is forever associated with my daughter's now hometown, Chicago, and the road that took her there.

Though the title might imply the movie being a bad porn flick, it actually turns out to be yet another pearl of French cinema.Claire's 35th birthday is coming up and she has strongly decided to get married. She invites three substantial grooms for dinner, with the goal of choosing one of them as her future husband. The evening doesn't go exactly as planned and as one thing leads to another; soon Claire's apartment has turned into a house of horrors as more bodies start piling up in Claire's bathtub. This movie once again proves how better movies are made when profit is not the only goal to achieve. The story is absolutely brilliant! What makes the movie even more amazing is that it's set in one apartment and all the events happen during one night. It's one of those movies that when you come out of the cinema it feels like it lasted only half an hour, but in reality was an hour and a half.Director/script writer James Huth has done a brilliant job in organizing everything so that everything works perfectly and the audience can't stop laughing. There are no unnecessary moments and every scene leads to another, even funnier one. And yes, do watch this one before they make the American version.

So, OK, the others users say everything about it. It's very funny, very black humor. This is also very original and creative. We also got a chance to see Michèle Laroque starring in a movie. In French Cinema, she's always fourth of fifth on the bill. But there's one thing I really hate about this film : this is a French movie, so why the title is in English? Did Americans gives French titles to their movies? No! So why did the French do that (there's also their movie Sitcom, with an English title). And why all the songs of this French movie are in English? Did France have problems with their own identity?

A murder-slapstick-comedy. Reminded me a little of those old Louis de Funes movies, but Serial Lover is much more 90s, and much more bloody, too. The funniest film I've seen since Clerks.I can't imagine anyone I know who wouldn't have a hell of a time with this movie. It's so funny! And the female lead does a perfect job of playing your average woman who suddenly has things getting way, way over her head, without knowing how she got into that mess in the first place. While it may not be totally original all of the time, this movie has a certain kind of freshness to it that I haven't seen in comedy movies for years.Did I say it is funny? It is. From start to finish.See it before they make the (inevitable) americanized version.
