The Driver now carries an arrogant rock star who is visiting a major city (not Pittsburgh as earlier believed). Played by Madonna, this title character wants to get away from her bodyguards in the Driver's BMW. He soon gets tired of her and decides to have a bit of fun.

Highly Overrated But Still Good

Teddie Blake

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

The Original Intention Of This Was To Sell BMW's. I Usually Hate Car Ads, They Always Use The Same Selling Point "The New Holden For Only 14,990!" It Gets Tiring. THIS On The Other Hand Actually Had Me Wanting To Buy BMW's And Hang Around Outside Hotels Where Pop Stars I Don't Like Are Staying(If Any Pop Stars Are Reading This: If You Want To Be Safe Stay In The Limo And Don't Ask Someone Else To Take You, That Someone Could Be ME!) The Simple Plot Is That Madonna Is Yet To Turn Up To A Gig And Out Of The Blue She Asks Clive Owen To Drive Her, Only One Problem, Clive Owen Thinks She Is A Real Pain. He Drives Incredibly Fast To The Performance To Make Sure Madonna's Manager And Bodyguard Can't Get There First And By The End Madonna Falls Out Of The Car With Spilled Coffee Down The Front Of Her Pants And Smeared Makeup And The Paparazzi As Witnesses. There Are Numerous Funny Parts To This Short, I Have Revealed To You Some Of Them Already. I Suggest You Find It Somewhere And Watch It, You Won't Be Disappointed.

"The Hire" goes British style this time. The style is comparable to movies like "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", "Snatch and "The Boondock Saints". It is filled with some typical humor and overall is a lot of fun to watch.Still the short suffers from one big problem; Madonna. I'm sorry but she really can't act. Even in the scene's were she has no lines she acts horrible. She really pulled the professionalism of the movie down. Also thing I was not to happy about was the editing, it was kind of messy especially in the car speeding sequences.Still the fourth "The Hire" short is a lot of fun to watch and the ending itself is really funny!6/10http://bobafett1138.blogspot.com/

I bought the Dvd after seeing two of the second season films online. This is by far my favorite one of the eight. Guy Ritchie is probly one of my favorite directors and he proves his talent with this short. The humor is witty and the camera movements/angles are superb. Definately a must see... Watch it here =>
