Good story, Not enough for a whole film

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Goes well with the tv show. If you like lightsaber duels and watt to know how Anakin first met Ashoka, well here it is.

The animation looks good only when it's not showing faces because most of the characters faces and even some of the movements look so wooden. The story itself dealing with the Hutts isn't that interesting, the characterisations feel awkward considering the already known arcs. The main problem is this was supposed to be 4 episodes of the series which could've worked in that context but it was made into a theatrically released film. But no one is fooled here, anyone watching this will know they are watching a tv show. The story and the humour are more of the style of cartoons that we are used to seeing in Cartoon Network than that of Star Wars. Even with all of this and some annoying characters, it provides enough entertainment to be very much bearable.

This movie takes place during the Clone Wars between Episode II and Episode III. The war is not going well for the Republic. The Jedi with the Clone Army struggle to fight off the Separatist droid army. On the planet Christophsis, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi receive young Jedi Ahsoka Tano who Yoda assigned to be Anakin's Padawan. After the victory, the next task is to rescue Jabba the Hutt's son Rotta. Opposing them is Count Dooku's apprentice Asajj Ventress.This signals the end of George Lucas' theatrical Star Wars world. It fails in many aspects but it could have worked if Lucas released it as a TV movie on a kids channel. It does lead to the TV show. However, this movie is so far inferior to the cinematic original trilogy and even the CGI-heavy prequels. The wooden animation works much better as a TV cartoon leading to very wooden characterizations. The wooden storytelling has no real excuse other than it's episodic in nature. Again it's not a theatrical movie. I also don't know why anybody would see this in the theater. Lucas' aim may be to gather buzz for his TV show but it ends up as a final nail in the coffin for him driving the theatrical Star Wars world.

This is a CG cartoon movie related to the series that spans between episodes II and III.For what I've seen, it's quite enough good to be part of the star wars universe. First of all, yes, it is Intended to be a cartoon movie, but that doesn't mean you don't get a high count of kills and action as in a normal star wars movie. Even though there are some negative points, such as the absence of a Williams score, a few small plot leaks and few slightly, really slightly childish moments, it quite does entertain enough and starts the expansion of the star wars storyline we had in the TV series.
