Superior Firepower: Making 'Aliens' Trailers

This feature-length documentary, made especially for the 2003 Aliens (1986) DVD release, is incredibly informative with all its interviews with both the cast and crew, as well as behind the scenes footage filmed during the making of the film. Every possible element towards what went into making the movie is included here and gives fans an overload of information to fill their brains with.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

I've always had a real hit and miss relationship with our Xenomorph friends. You see I think Alien (1979) is very overrated, I think Alien 3 & Ressurection were pretty medicore, that Aliens vs Predator movies were a huge let down and that the recent efforts have been very underwhelming. However, Aliens (1986) would be in my top 100 movies ever made and I consider it a true masterpiece. This documentary features fantastic interviews with pretty much the entire cast. Both interviews from the time it was made and in 2003 which gives a nice contrast. It provides excellent production stories and explanations on how the visual effects were pulled off.Thought it stands at a hefty three hours I think that it needed to be, this way it could be thorough and thats what makes this documentary so watchable. As a big fan of the movie I naturally found this fascinating and would advise any fans of the franchise to give it a go.The Good:Sigourney Weaver comes off really wellAmazing backstage footageSolid interviewsThe Bad:Nothing springs to mindThings I Learnt From This Movie:Michael Biehn is to James Cameron what Johnny Depp is to Tim BurtonThe minature effects guy is Ron Jeremys cloneJames Cameron is a jackassIs forcing a 10yr old to watch an 18 rated movie not illegal?

Every bit as informative and comprehensive as "The Beast Within: The Making of Alien." As does the first, this continuation of the Making Of history of the Alien Quadrilogy takes you from conception to post production and marketing. This work is extremely well put together, completely inclusive, and very entertaining for fans of this venue.I especially enjoyed pre-production featurette, "Preparing for Battle," and the production featurettes in particular. They show you the weapons designs, and detail every aspect of that portion of the prop elements involved. Every chapter of this documentary is inclusively in–depth. Each portion carrying itself as a stand alone featurette, as if there are no more chapters, so they had best tell you all they know. I was quite impressed with every aspect of this documentary work. It is just amazing to me that every part, from the information included to the quality of the film upon which it is presented was just perfect. Every little piece; every little detail. This is a fan-boy's dream come true.10/10 from...the Fiend :.
