What a beautiful movie!
Dreadfully Boring
One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
View MoreYes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.
View MoreI love this movie so much! I watched it 4 times in just 3 days! It is so great, I just couldn't help it. The choreography is so amazing, I just want to learn all the dances! I love singing along to all the songs, and just play those even more times! More that 10 times each song, plus I've watched the bonus dances about 3-4 times each too. I loved the way each character had their own uniqueness, and how they stuck to the oldies as much as they could (Sure, there were definitely some things that were NOT old). I also found it awesome show Disney Channel is just as funny as it always has been. It just makes you feel warm inside, watching movies or TV shows like this. They don't need to be dirty or degrade anyone in order for it to be funny. And with this type of thing, you just need to be open to love it. I actually went into it hating it but about 30 minutes in the first time I watched it I started loving it. It's funny how sometimes you just need to convince your mind of something. I think that it's just a thing we do, we block something because we think it'll be stupid, or something. Oh, and another reason why I went in hating it is because the main guy that is from Austin & Ally? Yeah, I hate Austin. But I love him in this movie! He just wants to dance and have fun, and he's optimistic just like me! Anyways, I just wanted to give a review on this because I loved it so much!
View MoreThis is one of the few better Disney Channel films. Maia Mitchell is cute and a very talented actress and Ross Lynch as well and very, very bright. This is kinda an annoying film at times, and features several made for kids trademarks, such as horribly cheesy characters and dialogue, but makes up for it with the music, which is very original and catchy as well as the opening which really set the characters feelings, and at points I wish they'd stayed in that world. All together a decent kiddie fair, that is annoying yet watchable. The film tries to be good, but is mostly waterlogged and predictable! Still children will enjoy the catchy tunes and cast. C
View MoreI didn't have very high expectations for this movie, but on a rainy afternoon, I thought 'eh why not?' Here's why not: It was horrible. the costumes where overdone, the accents where horribly cheesy, and the songs where so cliché for the 60's. Overused tunes, stupid lyrics and it seemed like Maia Ross and Grace where the only people who could actually sing. And then there's the acting. So,so stupid. I have never been a huge Ross Lynch fan, and this movie dropped my respect for his acting to an all time low. the only reason I gave this movie a 3 (a blessing) is because I was genuinely fond of Maia Mitchell as 'Mack.' I thought her acting was very good, as was her singing. I would love to see her in anything else besides, you know, this. To sum it up, don't waste your tie on Disneys latest disaster.
View MoreOh no, Disney Channel did it now. This time, they took the clichéd beach movie idea about bikers and surfers. Terrific, now I have a new thing to criticize!!! Yes, the concept has worked well in many olden movies throughout the years. However, last time I checked, the date was not 1955, and that the Soviet Union has apparently disbanded. So yeah, that era has ended rather abruptly. Before I comment any further, however, let's give them some credit. They finally decided to parody movie ideas, instead of simply robbing the heck out of them, which is a good step. However, the next step they made ended with the entire ground breaking in half and my hope for humanity being burned by Earth's iron core. That is, on the fact of the main problem. My trouble is how stereotypical DC always makes their teen characters, which seems to be dramatically overused in this film. I mean, COME ON!!! "TEEN Beach Movie"?! I can't name one teen that would step three toes into the same room as the movie. But I did, so I'd better take that comment back. The problem is that the target audience is clearly teenagers, which they fail miserably at. Oh, why this movie surpassed "Teacher's Pet" in ratings will be a lifelong mystery.
