Sadly Over-hyped
Good concept, poorly executed.
Best movie of this year hands down!
The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
View MoreA world apart from the TV series in which it's based, nevertheless "The A-Team" is an exciting film that keeps you hooked from the very beginning. Whereas the TV series has Vietnam veterans, the film differs whereby it has Iraq veterans instead, an obvious change to keep with the modern times; whereas the TV series was very much rooted in the 1980's, the film has a clear modern day feel to it, with extraordinary technology and resources being the tools of choice, rather than creating homemade weapons and gadgets like in the TV series. Edgy and serious with a tense and gritty underlining story, whereas its predecessor was very camp and easy-going..., to watch the film you have to go into it with a clear mind and no expectations, if you expect it to be like the TV series then you'll be sorely disappointed, if you treat as though it's a film in its own right, you'll love it a Hell of a lot more. The casting choices were a bit dazzling, as much as I love Liam Neeson I could never see him as a Hannibal Smith, how wrong I was, the guy brought an abundance of acting brilliance to the role and made the character of Hannibal his own, refusing to copy or emulate his predecessor George Peppard, he instead crafted what could only be described as an entirely new character for a new audience, genius! The same could be said for Bradley Cooper's Face, the guy was nothing like the original, but forged a whole different character that fitted into the story perfectly.Alas the two principal characters that I found harder to accept were BA (referred to as Bosco during this film) and Murdock; the producers had to recruit a UFC fighter to play BA, a guy with the very little acting experience, and Sharlto Copley played Murdock but for me was unconvincing in the role, surely Jim Carey would've been a much better fit? "The A-team" is an excellent film, you just have to suspend your disbelief to get the most out of it, and try not to relate it to the TV series if you can help it.
View More1hr57mins 7/10 fugitives printing an escape route from a set up to executing a side plan of action wanted for crimes they didn't commit they survive as soldiers of fortune looking to be hired as there is none of the original cast in this movie they have hired a a group of actors that are good they are with the a team this film is based on TV series about A group of Iraq War veterans looks to clear their name with the U.S. military, who like sorting problems out with like when the improvise and designing an action plan to defeat an enemy by any means necessary so as we see - A group of Iraq War veterans looks to clear their name with the U.S. military, who suspect the four men of committing a crime for which they were framed. For a general in a base give them a job of retrieving printing plates but as they try to recover them they are double crossed by there own team not suspecting they would be blamed Hannibal Smith is visited by a CIA spook who tells him he knows where the man who took the plates is and wants him and his men to recover it. So he helps him escape and he breaks out the others and they go after the plates. But after doing it, they discover that the spook might not be OK. And a military intelligence officer who was involved with one of them is pursuing them but as they escape rob a plane with a tank and as escape they use a tank to defend them selves with a great action set piece with a flying tank hows my driving is particularly on the back of the tank which is hilarious moment Neeson's every other line contains the word "plan"), and this not only nails the four characters(who all get an unforgettable introduction each, and several individual heroic moments), it doesn't merely imitate, but builds and slightly reinterprets to update them. They are played rather well; Liam looks like he was born with that cigar in his mouth, Bradley genuinely is charming and suave, Sharlto(from District 9; he reverts to his dialect here and there) comes across as a lunatic without that making us dislike him, and Jackson... well, he looks cool, he's not asked to do anything he can't handle, and he's certainly got more charisma than any other wrestlers on the silver screen The plans are *brilliant* and seeing them gather materials for them is a blast. This keeps to an immensely fast pace, without overwhelming us, and it fits in plenty of well-thought out plot(that doesn't confuse, in spite of twists and such, that hold up). The script is by the guy who did Wolverine, Swordfish and Hit-man and a rookie; however, maybe because of help from the director(who I've only seen one other thing by, his outstanding The Hire short), they turn in something magnificent. FX are plentiful(occasionally overshadowing the people... be careful, Carnahan), and excellent with a few brief poor bits. The editing is tight, cinematography stylish. While it's black and white, switch-off-your-brain-at-the-door so as they a team are being hunted by Patrick Wilson character lynch they have a plan to get the FBI to show who the real guy is by using box trick quiet litterly a genius move to fox him a genuine entertainment all round there is no plan b
View MoreThe A team is a must watch movie when I first time watched it on my phone it was just awesome that I watched it 1 more time on that day (I.e 2 times in day) and I will also say that the movie is bit underrated it should be 7.2/10 on IMDb at least!!!!I suggest that do not watch the critics just watch the movie its awesome. The acting was great, the direction was great the action sequences like tank falling from the plane is a mindless sequences but good for those who will watch it as a entertainment.Overall the movie was very good and superb I watched it 10 times and I still like it.
View MoreWell I never seen any of the Television show that The A-Team is inspired by I am aware of the plot of the show. And of course it's quotes like "I pity the fool" and "I love it when a plan comes together". The film itself it actually quite fun one of those films where you just can enjoy the action and some of it quotes. It contains some funny quotes and funny scenes so it mix action and comedy fairly well which helps you enjoy the film even better. Also I like the cast they have for playing the A-Team Hannibal played by Liam Neeson, Face played by Bradley Cooper, B.A. Baracus Played by Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson and Murdock played by Sharlto Copley. Face is giving a love interest with Charissa Sora played by Jessica Biel. The plot centers around The A-Team being framed for a crime they didn't after a mission went wrong. The drama level in the film is high which is very much a rush making it a non stop action film from the get go.Sure there are some things that may hold the film such as language and violence which is normally apart of a film like this but nevertheless I still enjoy this film. Some might have hated it some liked it personally I enjoy it very much.I give The A-Team an 8 out of 10I love it when a plan comes together
