One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

Movies like this this is much need for streaming services . Spectral(even with a bigger budget) on Netflix, still wasn't better than this movie. Amazon Prime should make this into a series or do a part 2 with a bigger budget. Amazon need this and the streaming right for that new Stargate SG1 series coming out to counter Netflix.

Shot on location in Danville VA, this movie is better than most Sci-Fi mystery movies on the market. Bridd Cole leads a mundane life, getting up at 7am, going to work, delivering mail and being bashful when it come to temp employee Charlotte. Bridd's powers make an appearance when best bud Trent steps away from his desk during a Stock Trade. Bridd's "powers" allow him to perfectly select a trade that makes the company clients a great deal of money and gets Trent a nice size portfolio as a bonus. Trent is aware of Bridd's powers and wants him to use them to their benefit. Bridd declines as he's not the type to do that sort of thing. A brief encounter with Charlotte in the supply room gives Bridd another chance to showcase his powers. When a 20yo package is finally delivered, things get really interesting. The contents resemble a hand-held game system. Bridd ignores it and proceeds with his mundane life. He gets a date with Charlotte that leads to them going on the run, when they return to his house, find it trashed and unexpected visitors hiding in the shadows. Even worse, their boss is dead on the floor in Bridd's house. The visitors are dressed in Cat Burglar Attire with Motorcycle Helmets. Trent is the 2nd victim of the visitors. The Leader (David S. Lee) barely speaks, yet conveys so much in his actions. Bridd and Charlotte partake in a bit of a scavenger hunt to get details on what is happening and why. Bridd has to climb onto a library shelf to reach the next device in the hunt. yet, when he removes it from the book encasing it, Charlotte merely puts the book back on the top of the shelves. She's the same height as Bridd and therefore should have had to climb on the shelf as he did. It becomes clear The Leader is out to create hybrids on Earth. The question of why isn't revealed until the climax. Bridd learning how to use his powers to aid in their battle against The Leader is akin to watching Rain Man. Bridd can recall in detail things he's literally only seen for few seconds. Watch his eyes when he's attacked. They glow when he's "fully charged" and can hit back as hard as Superman. This first comes to light in the library when he has to take on one of The Leader's Cronies. The Cronies carry razor sharp double edged curved knives which can cut through skin and bone like a hot knife through butter. Apparently, Bridd and his kind are potent, because one night with him and Charlotte is preggers. The Leader needs Bridd's blood because as purebreds, they cannot breathe in Earth's atmosphere, hence the helmets. There are loose ends which permit a sequel. Considering one of the Cronies disappeared with a vial of Bridd's blood and there is a little one on the way, I'd like to see a sequel to this movie. I gave it a 7/10 because it wasn't campy, overly dramatic or too techy to follow. It had an even balance of sci-fi, mystery, romance and comedy. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes invasion movies.

The story had such promise and did manage to hook me in reasonably quickly. Unfortunately, that was as good as it got. I do like sci-fi and once does have to suspend belief, but a good sci-fi film can easily make one believe in time travel, parallel dimensions etc. The first killer for me is when a **really** beautiful babe, who did not appear to be a stranger to using her sexual attraction, falls for the main character. It took me for over half the film to realise that she was not a plant by the Secret Services. So many aspects of the story could have been explored for easily another 30 mins of quality sci-fi, the film is too short at 83 mins as is. Better acting would have been mandatory. In fact, other than the promising story the only other good thing about this film is that it is indeed short so I did not waste too much of my life. Do yourselves a favour and do what the song says, "just walk on by" and give it a miss.

Saw this at the IMAGINE film festival 2015 in Amsterdam. A bit of romance, a bit of humor, a bit of tension, a bit of SciFi, and a bit of mystery, all of that mixed together in this surprising movie. The story line leaves us continuously guessing what is going on, and what could reasonably follow after that. In the final Q&A the director declared this to be a "hybrid" movie, and that is precisely what we got. We see several people and follow them while several mysterious things happen. It starts a bit colorless within an office and a date between two very different colleagues, in fact an odd couple no one would have expected them to go out together. According to the director, they are opposites and that was intentional. Narratively speaking they are the actual binding elements, to guide us through various genres like Romance, SciFi, Thriller and any combination of that.No chance to outguess in which direction the story is going to develop. Whatever you anticipated, it is totally different from what really went on. And, more importantly, it was much better than I had thought. Strange things start happening, and it is good to consider that the overall theme. It is not exactly an "Action" film as IMDb misleadingly tells us, due to the mere fact that aforementioned odd couple cannot be considered super heroes by any definition. Some additional notes from the final Q&A with the director: They used a lot of places in his home town in Virginia, which he could use for free, knowing his budget was small. The masked men in the library were dressed as they were on purpose, as this was the only way not to give immediately away that some SciFi was involved. These masked men behaved like any military force, secret police or drug gang. That their assignment was of a totally different nature, was to become clear much later, being one of the surprising twists in the proceedings. All in all, the low budget does not glare us in the face at all. It was surprising and very entertaining, yet I don't think it will provide for the same mix of sensations when viewed a second time. Whatever happens to the main protagonists is very unusual, even a bit far fetched, and they survive only through sheer luck. Nevertheless, the genre mix was a nice find and it kept our attention throughout the running time.
