How many times did we hear that Jackson "wished things were different?" Probably one too many times. We get it Jackson, life screwed you and the system is flawed, it must be since you got the blame for something you didn't do. With all that in mind, The Chase is still a light fun car chase movie, with enough action to hold you over.I remember awhile back watching this Charlie Sheen movie and liking it a lot for what it was. A fun little action flick that can provide great entertainment if you don't take it very seriously. In The Chase we are provided with some action as Jackson (Charlie Sheen) is speeding along the freeway. We got some typical type-casted characters in the two guys in the big green monster truck. You know, the ordinary, dumb, pot-smoking surfer like dudes, except with a little twist of being extremely patriotic to the point of stupidity. Maybe they aren't too patriotic, it could be that they just want television time, which is definitely apparent during the interview scene after the crash. All in all, The Chase has its moments. The scene where Jackson kidnapped Natalie Voss (A daughter of a billionaire man) is pretty hilarious merely because of its ridiculousness. The image Jackson gets before giving himself up of pulling out a gun on the many officers and getting shot down is hilarious in that sort of unintentional way. The stereotyping that cops are egocentric and power hungry is pretty funny and apparent in the final scene, and also during the part where one of the cops claims to "Be a street prophecy." Now with all the positives I've covered you would think I love the movie. Well, I do like it, for what it's worth. It certainly has little to work with. It's just a guy kidnapping a girl, and then the rest of the 80 minutes is him driving away from the cops on a freeway. There's a little comic relief, and some action here and there, but it's all the same and it just becomes a bit too much. It just becomes too repetitive, because those humorous moments and action sequenced parts are few and far between. I'm being repetitive by talking about it this long. In the end, it's a light, somewhat entertaining comedy. Charlie Sheen is the only thing memorable, and the only thing that really makes this movie watchable. 6/10

"The Chase" is sort of an action adventure romance with some light comedy.it is a case of mistaken identity (sortof).Charlie Sheen and Kristi Swanson play the two leads in the movie.Charlie Sheen is Jackson Davis Hammond,a falsely convicted armed bank robber who escapes from custody. As Jackson makes a quick stop at a gas station to fill up(in a stolen car) the report of the stolen car is heard by two police officers in the store.the officers attempt arrest Jackson, and rather than go back to jail,he kidnaps the woman standing next to him in line. This woman just happens to be Natalie Voss,(Kristi Swanson)daughter of wealthy industrialist DaltonVoss.(Ray Wise)Jackson escapes with Natalie and leads the police on a much publicized car chase, which takes up most of the movie.the ending is predictable but satisfying.Obviously, there is a lot of action, some of it quite intense.there is also humour, courtesy of Sheen and Swanson.much of what occurs in the movie is somewhat improbable but the movie is entertaining and fun. 8/10

Making a big deal out of it, blowing it out of proportion, perverting the truth, etc. That's what the media love doing to the world. "The Chase" is a high octane movie of a robbery, hence kidnapping gone way out of line. Charlie Sheen is Jack Hammond, a wrongly jailed man who believes no one would see him as an innocent man. He was jailed for a robbery he didn't commit. Kristy Swanson plays Natali Voss, daughter of a millionaire who gets caught up with Hammond in the robbery. Unknowningly she was held up with a Butterfinger Bar, she would act like any other hostage victim, scared of of their wits. When they talk throughout the police chase, he talks to her about his innocence. He thinks he's the only one who believes his innocence, his lawyer is the other, and the third one is Natalie(Swanson), herself. With all the support, he got the chance for romance. Even though, he's in the car, romancing and driving is way more risky than drinking and driving. When the media twists the truth, and blow the story out of proportion, a media circus is what you always hear. Talk about total pandemonium! The best thing to do is know the real facts, and not the fluff, "The Chase" is a lot of fun, and fairly entertaining. 2 out of 5 stars!

I am a rather large movie buff. I have seen many. many movies. I'm obsessed with them, and my favorite movie is The Chase. Now the chase isn't really that amazing of a movie, it doesn't really excel in fields of plot and character development. But there is something about it that makes me and my friends, and many others go back and watch it a second or a third time.I love this movie and I encourage all movie-goers to go and rent this movie.NOTE: I have come to the understanding this movie is very hard to find, and that not many or no versions came out on DVD. It is played on TNT or TBS though.
