Truly Dreadful Film
This is How Movies Should Be Made
It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

View MoreI disagree with most of these reviews. I thought this was a fun movie. It's about four teenage girls following their dreams, and they realize just how hard it can be, yet they don't give up. I thought the music was great. The acting was awesome. The storyline was interesting, and the whole movie rocked! Raven-Symone was especially excellent! I even found some moments in the movie very emotional, like when the girls hit a bump in the road with the producer, and they think about giving up completely (their friendship and their dream). The movie had a great message. Although there may be plenty of bumps in the road to your dream, don't stop trying. Never give up, because you just may get there.
View MoreI've read some of the comments on the cheetah girls movie, and I'm surprised at how hard the ADULTS have been on this movie. I'm 16 now, but this movie came out when I was 9 or 10. And all this talk about how unrealistic it was, is STUPID. Of course it's gonna be silly and unrealistic, but this is a CHILD'S MOVIE. Disney caters to ages 6-14, although at that time not many teens watched it so it was probably around 6-11 at the time. I LOVED the movie, and so did all of my friends. We didn't see these girls as rich (nor did we care) as some people have claimed, we didn't sit there contemplating the roles of the characters, and we didn't even think that no one would care about Toto being stuck in a hole at the end, because to us at that age, that was a plausible reason for the police and firefighters to come. Unrealistic? Maybe. But we were KIDS. We cared about Toto and the girls' friendship. Fame wasn't the moral to us, friendship was, at least, that's what I got out of it. So before you rate this like it's an adult/teen lifetime/feature film, think about it from the standpoint of who it was made for, the kids.
View MoreMost of this movie is totally unrealistic-- (besides the unlikely plot, the girls wear couture and are perfectly coiffed and made up at all times), but there is something about this movie that transcends the usual saccharine crap they try to spoon feed kids. The 4 girls are of varying ethnicities, and have varied backgrounds, talents and personalities. They get annoyed with each other, self advocate and are able to make mistakes and learn from them. Their friendship endures despite problems they experience, and the girls stay true to themselves throughout. It is a refreshing alternative to the movies that promote the message that girls get ahead by being passive or sexually objectified. A lot of this movie seemed so far fetched as to be ridiculous, but the characters were strong, talented and independent.
View MoreThis movie was terrible. I was expecting something average because it's Disney Channel, but what I saw, blew me away. It was so bad. I can't understand how it was so well-liked by girls or guys. The songs were trash, the acting was terrible, and that was not a story. The ending was just the worst part. The dog is stuck in a hole, and they get it out by singing? That was bad. I don't understand that. This, in my opinion, is the worst movie on TV. The second one looks no better. Don't waste your time. Bad movie. My score: 1/10
