Overrated and overhyped
Captivating movie !
n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.
View MoreWhile it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
View More60ish Chuck Norris plays a retired cop and finder of abducted persons in this paint by numbers 1985 action flick which had the bad luck to have been made in 2005. Seriously, it was as if the creators were either blissfully or wilfully unaware that twenty years of cinema had passed under the bridge. Did somebody win an old Chuck Norris script in a storage locker auction and decide to shoot the thing? The generic looking vehicle chases and punch-ups would have been nothing special back in the days of Good Guys Wear Black, but coming in the wake of modern action opuses like The Matrix they seem downright anachronistic, like somebody starting a Nascar race in a Stutz Bearcat. Even the bad guys - an incognito Nazi war criminal and a black clad soldier of fortune seem badly dated. At least the producers had the good taste to give Chuck age-appropriate female friends (Joanna Pakula and Tracy Scoggins); watching younger actresses cozy up to sexagenarian Chuck would have been just too icky.
View MoreUnfortunately, but this is the last movie of Chuck's career in the cinema. And, as a big fan of Norris, I was glad to watch this movie, named "Cutter". It's the movie, which full of action, interesting episodes and cool fights. I noticed, that this's very nice action for last Chuck Norris's project. Finally, "Cutter" is a typical motion picture of 80's, but with something modern, fashion and cool parts. Norris as strong and fast, as in his "Walker Texas ranger" TV series, so I pleased to look at him and to see, how he kicks asses of bad guys and, for sure, his last fight scene. So, I advice to watch to You this wonderful and really interesting movie, especially, if You're a fan of Carlos Rey Norris.10 out of 10!..
View MoreThe acting in this movie was surprisingly good and very believable. Of course, it was fairly Hollywoodish in some parts, but I personally enjoyed it. If you are a fan of action, then this film is definitely for you. It has everything in that regard from guns to martial arts. Chuck Norris does a fine job of fighting and he and Ms. Pacula do a great job together uncovering who has kidnapped her uncle and why, but there is no romance at all between them. It does have a historical point to it as well, which I thought was interesting. I loved how it all tied back into the Judaism, that made it interesting if you are a fan of history at all. Some things happened way too easily for the characters, but some of it was believable. Spokane Washington is where the film was set, and coming from WA myself, I think that they could have filmed somewhere else that was smaller and had a far more interesting film with more scenery. All in all, this film was interesting and if you want to see an action packed Chuck Norris movie, this one is for you!
View MoreHere is one of those action films that fall to pieces because of their sheer stupidity. How many times can a person be kicked in the stomach and punched in the face before it puts him out of action? So all the fights are quite ridiculous. But what makes everything even more stupid is that three times our hero (Chuck Norris) has a fight with the villain, and three times he loses. In fact in one case the villain even draws a gun to shoot Chuck and changes his mind. Why? Presumably because he realised it was Chuck's movie and therefore he mustn't kill him. A pity really. Because the plot wasn't all that bad, and a little attention to the fight scenes could have produced a movie that would have been more enjoyable. And let's blame Mr Norris. After all he was, together with his brother, the executive producer.
