A Brilliant Conflict

n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.

This is ultimately a movie about the very bad things that can happen when we don't address our unease, when we just try to brush it off, whether that's to fit in or to preserve our self-image.

This is a pretty lame, poorly written B-horror movie, that remains stuck somewhere between an homage to- and more comical approach of horror movies of the '70's and '80's (The Romero, Argento and Fulci type of horror flicks) and a serious attempt of making a good, gory horror flick. Lots of these types of movie got and still gets made, rarely ever with a good result. This is unfortunately one of those bad movies. It takes forever for things to start off in those movie (most likely because of its low budget) and the written and dialog is just plain bad. Of course also the actors in this movie really aren't among the finest. When things finally start off, continuity and the character behavior becomes really bad and unbelievable, which also at times makes this an hard and also definitely unpleasant movie to follow. It also makes the intended comedy in this movie work out all the more lame.Sad thing is that the movie tries to put in many scare effects but the timing and just overall execution of it is so terrible that it often becomes more laughable than anything else really. It gives the movie also really an amateurish feeling in parts.Of course the movie is predictable in basically every regard. The movie just simply doesn't bother to put in any creativity or originality.On a positive note; despite it's low budget the movie is still a good looking one, with a good visual style and also some decent make-up. Too bad that it didn't got used for a better movie. There is also some gore pleasant but somehow it doesn't know to entertain or shock as much as its look allowed it to be. If I were not against the ordering of products of the internet I would already have this film in my library but sadly I am still on the look out for this great marvel of movie making. When I rented it about six years ago i fail in love with it's intensity. it had more raw power in it's first five minutes than the supposed overly nasty new Texas Chainsaw Massacre had in it's entire run time. This film gave zombies there due, even more so then Resident Evil, Dawn of the Dead (2004), or 28 Days Later. While all of those films are good this one shows love for the Zombie genre not just popping the old stories out all over again for a new stupid generation. The music in this is extravagant and lush. One of the head Zombies in this would later go on to play Tiny in Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects both remarkable on there own. This film is a must for all Zombie lovers. Seek it out!!!!!!!

Ewww! What a hideous mess of a film. I understand the movie was deliberately made to be bad and littered with scenes and references from horror movies, but come on! When the best line of dialogue in a film is "Hmmm. What would Bruce Campbell do?" you know its time to leave. However, luckily for you, I was paralysed with disbelief and unable to leave before it was done.The film is just awful on so many levels. Crap acting, crap story, crap dialogue, crap make-up and crap errmm crap. The main bad guy, who resembles Rasputin, is found inside some techno-gizmo that opens a gateway to.....aaaaargh! Good God! Why am I even trying to explain this? Explanation would imply that a lot of thought went into this production, which it clearly did not. See, the thing about truly good, bad movies, is that they don't usually know what they are. Someone made them with the thought that the film would be really good and it turned out so bad that it was just a priceless gem waiting to be watched. But with this atrocity, they set out to make a "so-bad-its-good" movie. And it just fails. Fails so awfully that it just makes you cringe to watch it. In fact, nothing remotely like action occurs for 45 minutes. Instead we're treated to what I'll very generously label "character development". A series of scenes between the different characters that only serves to make you hate them with a passion and to highlight their lack of acting talent.Then we get to the techno-gizmo and Rasputin and the gateway to Hell etc. etc., yadda-yadda, boring! Seeing the characters killed one by one was not nearly as satisfying as I had hoped. In fact the ultimate horror (and, in fact, the only real horror this movie offered) was the ending which hinted at a sequel, for God's sake! Rent another zombie movie rather than this one......any one, it doesn't matter. I guarantee it'll be ten times better than this dross.

I bought this because the back mentioned Argento-esque thriller. It definitely has tons of obscure horror references which I enjoyed, only got a few of them though. It was just cool to see a true horror fan make a fun movie like this. Sure they have really bad "Cinemax After Dark" special effects, and veryminimal gore, but it is just really fun. The dialogue rings true, at least in my world and made the characters totally believable. I would recommend at leastrenting it.
