I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Extraordinary!! Uniquely different and fascinating and ever-so enjoyable! A visual feast and a plot that never gets boring! Louise Bourgoin is simply brilliant as Adele Blanc-Sec!

Another comic book adaptation, this turn from Tardi's Adele Blanc-Sec a sort of young female Indiana Jones settled in early 19th century, this adventuress is a little silly but not unproved of charming, the FX are enough good for such french production from the master Luc Besson, all characters has a own emotional appeal to enchant the audience, mixing adventure,a bit a black humor, funny gags and even a romance all in french style, managed to family and to range all ages, fine entertainment which is lacking of malice!! Resume: First watch: 2017 / How many: 1 / Source: Blu-ray / Rating: 7

First of all, why isn't this film better known? I discovered it by accident on DVD and what a total delight it is! (: Every single aspect of the filmmaking works! The camera work, sets, costumes, editing, (witty) script, performances (esp. Louise Bourgoin, who should be a major major movie star!), direction (I don't always like Luc Besson, but he's brilliant here), great special effects, the best use of animation with live action I have ever seen. I love every single thing about this movie! I love that it is 1:47; some of these types of films are too long but this movie is just the right length. I absolutely implore you to watch the film in FRENCH, and not in English - it's a totally different experience and it only works in its' native language. (Simply go to the setup and switch to French).French actors get a chance to do something completely different and without exception everyone delivers! I was captivated every single moment of this movie! It's a must-see! And why isn't Louise Bourgoin a better known French actress? She's a total delight!

Yes I rate this movie as awful, as it does not add anything to cinema in general, other than to discredit its director, who has otherwise made good pictures. The story is relatively complicated for a family/children movie as well as weak, to say the least. To cut a long story short this is about saving a sister by raising mummies, with the help of a Dino scientist (go figure). The poor attempt to add humor makes it even worse. Is the film saved by good acting? No. Where are the good French actors? Having said all those good things, it's 2010 and the CGI is mediocre with poor lighting effects. Sorry for the hate but this was such a waste of my time, I had to write about it. I cannot see anyone enjoying this, kids or adults. But hey it seems some people enjoyed it!
