Sorry, this movie sucks

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Just saw this movie on TV (which is why my review is a bit overdo, I suppose)! It is so funny!!!!! Yes, it's cheesy and over-the-top at times, but overall, this is a very amusing - not to mention, a very cute and touching film! I would recommend this movie to anyone - however, I would bet that slightly older people MAY find it funnier. Although, my teenage daughter thought it was hysterical, as well. This movie is never boring, which in my book, is the biggest compliment one can give a movie. You are taken on a ride of mishaps through New York city, where non-stop hilarity ensues.John Cleese, as the manager of the motel, is a riot! He does one thing in this movie that really cracked my daughter up.This movie is intelligently written - very clever and witty with it's jokes - a "smart person's comedy" (something that is in short supply these days). No, there is not a lot of sex and violence - although, there are some very funny incidents which are sexual in nature, so I would not recommend this movie for a younger child.Without giving anything away, the ending is so beautifully touching that it may even bring tears to your eyes. This is just a basic "feel good movie," there's no other way to put it! And yes, after watching this remake version, I tracked down the original version. I definitely think this remake is far funnier. (I actually found the original to be a bit tedious! You may be able to find this movie in a 5 dollar bin by now. I say: buy it!!! This is the sort of comedy you will enjoy watching over and over again, and it will never get old.

Look at the pedigree behind this film. It's based on a play by Neil Simon (The Odd Couple), it was written by Marc Lawrence (Music and Lyrics) and stars Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn. It should have been a huge hit.In fact it's a lousy film. Thin characters doing clearly irrational things. Martin brings likability to every role he plays, but here he's floundering. Goldie Hawn acts as his straight man well, but she's underused. And then along comes John Cleese. Now, I don't find him that funny at the best of times, but when he's clearly playing another Basil Fawlty type role it's even worse.A poor film.

This is the second of two teamings of stars Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin. The first had been "HouseSitter" in 1992. Whilst Hawn has aged a lot in the seven years since, Martin still looks exactly the same. Plot In A Paragraph: A remake of the 1970 Neil Simon comedy follows the adventures of a couple, Henry (Martin) and Nancy Clark (Hawn), who find misfortune at every turn while in New York City for a job interview.Goldie Hawn doesn't make many movies, so when she does, I expect a certain level of quality. Sadly this doesn't deliver as it is totally laugh free. A definite low point in the CV's of both Hawn and Martin. I enjoyed the little reference to a previous Martin movie, "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" when he failed to get a Plane and Train to New York, before renting an automobile. I also thought Alan, Henry and Nancy's son, being played by Goldie Hawn's real son, Oliver Hudson (Adam from TV's "Rules Of Engagement") was a nice touch too. However John Cleese's character, Mr. Mersault, a hotel manager, just seemed to be there to evoke memories of Basil Fawlty from his TV show "Fawlty Towers".In summary Goldie Hawn remains watchable as always, but these are not ninety of her better minutes.

This movie is truly funny, why does everybody compare the original to the remake? If you want a true comparison the the original was bland, this piece is something else I watched it when it first came out on video and I was with my family and friends , we all laughed and enjoyed it. If you can't see humor in this then you my friend need to lighten up, sure this won't appeal everyone comedy has changed the past decade if a comedy doesn't have any controversial meaning or non stop sex, fart jokes then its not funny but to everyone who can take a joke its a must buy or at least a rental.I recommended this movie to my friends and family and they all enjoyed it, maybe we're from another planet?
