Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

Omg I am a massive horror fan and this one scared the crap out of me. The guy that plays the main character is superb. So utterly convincing and the effects were crazy. I don't understand the negative reviews on here at all. It's exactly what it says on the tin and more. It builds and builds as it goes and has a massive crescendo at the end! It has left me feeling too scared to go bed! Please watch this one...lights out and trust me you'll be too frikking scared to move! I have to say this one is definitely up there in my top 10 scary films. If you want to be gripped scared pushed to your viewing limits and generally left lo looking around your room waiting for something to happen watch it!

Were it not for the virtuoso performance of the lead actor in this picture I doubt I could give this movie more than around a vote of 4.However Shane Johnson gives a brilliant portrayal of a man grieving the death of his wife. The story is about a film maker who is trying to find if there is an after life et al; but the question in my mind is whether he is really going crazy due to his bereavement...The special effects and scary moments in this picture on today's standards are at best average but the picture itself is worth a look for the phenomenal lead actor:6/10

So the thing about this film, and the reason I gave it 7 stars, is that I quite liked it despite my misgivings. There are a few good frights in it which manage to create a bit of tension and, to some degree, a bit of suspense. However, there really are no surprises. It's all fairly predictable. From early on in the film you realise where it's going and how it will look when it gets there in the end. It's a good performance from the main character and there are a few nice creepy touches but at the end of the day it is what it is, and I can't help wondering whether the world really need another 'found footage' movie? At the time 'Blair Witch' was a new and fresh take on the horror genre, the first couple of 'Paranormal Activity' films carried it forward nicely, but it's been done to death now. But having said all that it was entertaining enough to keep my attention. Some will love it - I just quite liked it.

Following the sudden death of his wife, the titular film maker decides his his next project will be about the search for the existence of the supernatural.As a guinea pig, he makes himself the experiment, allowing various practitioners of the occult to try the darkest spells and rituals they can find on him - in the hopes that when they fail, he'll once and for all have proof that the paranormal and it's surrounding beliefs are nothing more than myth.But something does happen.........It's that time of the month again people, your obligatory found footage movie with the word possession, and featuring an everyman with an everymans name as the lead role.And it's as bad as you would expect.MK in my opinion, deserves everything that happens to him during the film. What kind of selfish, irresponsible parent would do something that could have potentially fatal consequences.Has the man not seen the hundreds of films that this is blatantly ripping off? It's boring, never scary, and the fact that the makers have decided to crank up the volume when there are screams or white noise, is more of an annoyance than a cool gimmick, believe me, you'll be fiddling with the volume controls more than once.After the titular act happens, all he suffers is Ryan Reynold eye from Amityville Horror, and threatens his daughter while she is asleep.The film has no redeeming features, sadly, films like these though tend to gain a lot of unit sales on DVD, as the covers are quite endearing to the casual horror fan.So expect a plethora of these terrible movies for all eternity.Just keep reading my reviews, I'll try to protect you from the dretch...
