This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

View MoreGreat story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

View MoreVince Vaughn,(Pendelton(Penny)Wise), "The Break Up",'06, plays the role of a guy who is a super salesman on the telephone,(Tel-Marketer) who is working in a flea bag of a business with all kinds of weird gals and guys and then all of a sudden he meets up with Julia Ormond,(Caitlin Carlson, "Resistance",'03. Caitlin works for another outfit called Kelly Grant and offers Penny an opportunity to work for her company. The boss of Kelly Grant is Ed Harris,(Kelly Grant),"Dirt Nap",'05, gives Penny an interview and decides to hire him. There is a burned out relationship between Caitlin and Kelly, however, Caitliin and Penny begin to set the bed sheets a fire and are constantly in heat. Great film, with a very surprising ending and a film very worth viewing.
View MoreThis is a fantastic film. Yes it "borrows" the Mamet style, but it still has it's own merits. During college I worked in telemarketing and I can tell you that the portrayal here is almost dead on with the enviorment and people involved. Vaughn plays a fellow whose life has been nothing but a let down and when he opens up he gets kicked in the face. It was rather pathetic really and I think many who see this film and dislike it are simply unaware of the dismal realities of this world. I'm afraid I find so many parallels between this film and my own reality that I can't help but see it as brilliant so I give it a 10 and highly recommend it. I hope to see more from william wheeler some day soon.
View MoreI love watching movies. I work for blockbuster for God's sakes....I watch movies all the time. I thought this movie had a good premise and that the actiing was fine(although not stellar). The thing that bothers me about this movie was the ending...it left too many unanswered questions....to many unknowns....It is good for a bored night when u don't have anything else to do but don't ask questions after it's over because they will be unanswered and unknown...big dissappointment. Overall decent movie but not great. if you can see it for free like I did...it's not a bad way to spend an hour and a half if not...wait till it comes on cable
View MoreDo not read these comments past the 2nd paragraph if you haven't seen the movie! So we're walking through Blockbuster right? Through the sea of assembly line movies we come across a Vince Vaughn movie we hadn't seen yet. Amazing. It's like finding the pot of gold. Further examination of the case reveals that it also has Ed Harris & Julia Ormond. Wow! We need to look no further. The cover boasts an unpredictable ending. Sweet! (I never learn)The movie begins and the first few minutes are full of Vince goodness. It was fun seeing George Wendt too! Norm! Ok, I hate telemarketers that call people. It's one thing if you call them but when they call me I long for lightning to hit their phone system and electrocute every last one of them. Vince plays one of these types of bastards and is good at getting people to give up the green.Ok, enough. This is to comment not give a synopsis so let me get to the point. I love a good set up in a movie but 30 minutes is a bit extreme. This movie leaves no surprises. You know every step of the way how it will end and it just doesn't try to make it interesting. The best scene is when Vince is trying to sell the old lady on the investment. The ending left you with the empty feeling that "Penny" was feeling. Wonderful. Still, 2 good things do not make a great movie or even a good movie. They wasted everyone's talent and our time.
