Leah is eager to visit her uncle's ranch in Ireland, until her attempt to ride her cold cousin Shannon's horse results in Silky being injured and she is ordered not to ride again. When she meets Lucky, a leprechaun who only communicates with her, she learns that the beautiful white beast she's glimpsed from afar is in fact a bewitched fairy Sorica, who needs help retrieving a magical horn to return to her true form and her own world. Now Leah must juggle secretly helping Lucky, whose reasons for helping might not just be out of kindness; putting up with Shannon; and trying to win Uncle Jaques' trust by entering her newfound "horse" in the local race.

Too much of everything

Borserie

it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

THE WHITE PONY is a well photographed family film full of whimsy and fantasy. A twelve year old girl (Carly Anderson)has always dreamed of having her own pony. When she takes on a small job while visiting her uncle's(Oliver Gruner)farm, she encounters a magical, lucky leprechaun(Warwick Davis)and realizes her dreams may actually come true. Standing in her way is her vicious and spiteful cousin (Victoria Farrer). This tale adds to its charm as a fairy-tale princess helps in search for the much anticipated 'white pony'. Brian Kelly directs this pretentious, but albeit interest sustaining fantasy. Also featured are Natalie Anderson, Kathryn Farrer and Peg power. 86 minutes of fun and adventure for the whole family.

My Grand daughter has played this movie until she wore out the tape. A fairy-tale adventure. Full of magic and Leprechauns how could it not be? A twelve year-old girl named Leah who had a dream , a leprechaun who has his own agenda, and a white pony who needed to be set free from the curse that was placed on him. The adventure begins the day she arrives to her uncles farm and gets a job to help her make her dream come true. A cousin who did not want her there afraid of losing some of the attention, set out to get Leah from the moment she arrived. The Leprechan came into her life telling her a tale of a white pony and how they together get this curse lifted and set the pony free. But in truth he had is own motives. But at least this motives would still bring about good. All in hopes of finally having her very own white pony.

...that's what we have in this film starring kickboxing champion Olivier Gruner. Nice to know the tough guy's human too. It's a great little story with plenty of laughs and lots of moments for kids to remember. I didn't know what to expect when I got this film since it's so far out of Olivier's native genre but he didn't disappoint me. Kids, horses, magic, whimsy. (And there's merit and moral mixed in there too.) I'm saving this one for the grandkids...Good going Olivier!
