This is not a funny movie. It is very overrated. I think people will like a comedy movie because it is a comedy movie. It really does not have to be funny. Most people just think everything is hilarious. This movie like most comedies does not have a good story line. It fact it has an awful story line. Not the most people who are big on comedy movies would care.

If you wan to laugh your ass off this is the one! ranks right up there with Animal house and caddyshack. "is that for me Dad? no son, that's for me". classic line for Bo Derek! its a feel food buddy movie, with some timely one liners and plot twists. Brothers don't shake hands, brothers hug! If you were every in a sales job on the road, this will hit home. Chris was the next john Candy, taken before we could see all his genius.

I had never watched a movie with Chris Farley before. That I can remember, at least. This was the first. Makes me sad that he died so incredibly young, from something that could very easily have been avoided.I thought Tommy Boy started out a little weak, it took some time before I got into the mood of the movie. But as it went on, I liked it better and better. It has some genuine emotional moments, and a little more "depth" than I would assume. Now, this is no drama, but it has more heart than I thought it would. And when it is emotional, it's not overdone. Not especially funny, but I did chuckle in a couple scenes. (Let me add that I don't laugh that much from comedies, although I get the humor)Oh, and could the music BE more 90's family comedy?! Very typical, but gets the job done, and makes for a nice light atmosphere.

There are only so many iconic funny films out there and this is one of them. People may think the film is stupid and has no message but I think as long as you can watch it over and over again and still think it's funny then it should be in the history books and worthy of my gratitude. How many films do you watch once and never watch again!!!! This is a tribute to Chris Farley and even Black sheep was brilliant but not as good, but I can still watch it over and over and be in stitches. David spade is absolutely brilliant also as is a very funny actor and comedian. My hat off to them both.RIP Chris Farley.
